I just got the same exact upper, and it's been good so far (for a week of handling and one quick strip/lube).
Mine runs flawlessly and, other than my varminter, is the most accurate AR I own. It outshoots my Colts and Bushmasters.
Be sure to get the chrome lined bore.
Chrome lined chamber and bore is a personal requirement. This RRA upper has them.
I have no experiences that would make you want to change your mind. I've fired RRA's several times, and I just picked one up and took it out yesterday for the first time. I grabbed up a 16 inch middy A4 and added a Troy BUIS, CL Barrel for longevity.
One nice thing was that the turn around time for complete rifles is listed as quite a few weeks. I ordered mine on Oct. 20th and picked it up on Nov. 7th. Sounds like you are only looking for an upper so the wait times won't be a factor for you, especially if you do a FTF. I just thought I'd add my two cents worth.
You will be pleased with the decision to go w/RRA in my opinion.
I pulled the trigger today and ordered the upper. Due to backlogs at RRA, I should have it by Christmas but probably won't have it for the next shoot.
Who'd you order it from? I called Pete at AR15sales.com (Legal Transfers) on a Wednesday and had the upper in my hot little hands the following Monday. Or Tuesday, I forget. Either way, it was fast.
I also ordered from Pete at Legal Transfers, L.L.C. He has to have it direct shipped from RRA. Looks like these uppers at that price are fairly popular.
Damn, that sucks. Guess I caught him at the right time.
I can wait. I have something else to shoot in the meantime and I've got a little BSA holographic sight to play with, too. A guy I know via the Smith & Wesson forum says it's a good toy for the money. We'll see.
I love my RRA. You will be happy. Congrats [beer]
Well, the upper didn't make it in time for Christmas, but according to the little note UPS left me, my upper is finally in town. Do the liberal anti-gunners have any idea what the threat of making life difficult on people does for gun sales? :P
Maybe I'll be able to shoot it sometime in May.
If only they knew. [roll]Quote:

Jeez. I think RRA just dunks the entire upper in motor oil before they ship it. I need to heat that baby up and burn off the excess.
Ummm, are you serious? [roll] It's been below freezing in the day, and below zero at night. (Special note: snow does not melt during either of these conditions  ). This has been for the past six days and is expected for the whole next upcoming week as well. In other words, no! :P Karl.
I'm aware of that...
...but you just get a little eager after getting a new toy.Quote:

I like it with the pig-sticker on it!
Just tell them it's there so you can do a drive by bayoneting. :PQuote:
