WOW what is the deal with used Glock prices lately? I have found 5 or 6 Glocks for under 500 bucks. I do not think I have ever seen one for so low, I guess now is the time to get my 17.

Trade you 2 glocks in 40 or 45 or one of each for my Stag Arms 2T ar15????
seems like a lot of them have been high IMO
I guess it doesn't help I get a nice discount. kind of slews your reality of what everyone actually pays
People are starting to realize that there is tons of better gun out there....
I hear Taurus is about to release their own model.
One thing that bums me out about the for sale forum, how much I sold a Glock for when I was 21.
I bought a new G22 shortly after my 21st. Paid $560 after tax for it. Put one box of ammo through it and ended up selling it after hitting some hard times financially. I took it back to Green Mountain and they offered to give me $275 to take it back. So I told them to pound sand and stopped at a few pawn shops. $275 was the most any of the shops offered me. I didn't know the private sale laws at the time so I sold it to about the 3rd shop I went to or so, for $275.
Whenever I see a Glock going for 4 or 450, I cry a bit inside.
Seen a handful for $450 or so
That's because there are many folks out there who are incapable of passing a background check and are willing to pay a premium for a "paperless gun". By the same token there are plenty of unscrupulous gun owners who are willing to sell a pistol to a criminal as long as they can make all their money back (and then some).
That is what I have been seeing to.
That is bull crap, I wont even sell to this guy who is looking for a 25 ACP cause he only wants to do PP. He is probably okay but I do not want to take any chance of putting a gun into someones hands that cannot own one.
Well I wish someone would sell me an OD Glock 20 or 29 on 10mm. :-)
I personally wouldn't buy one if I saw it listed for $300.
Specialty sports sells there used glocks for 399. so when I see used ones on here for 500 I laugh a little bit.
Find me where I mentioned that the term SUPERIOR in my 2 post. I mentioned BETTER, because even If I have owned (and still have 3 of them) several Glock, I think there is better product out there.
The XDM (not the XD), the SW MP, The FNP are all highly inspired by Glock, but they are in many way improvements....
Glock sales have dropped in the last 2-3 years and I know for a fact that last December the gun shops at 2 large retailer in Denver where selling XDs at a rate of 3 for 1 glock.... Same price.
I hadn't heard Glock sales were dropping. I have hear they're 500,000-700,000 units backlogged, though.
Let me re phrase this: their MARKET SHARE is dropping.
In comparison to Glocks,
XDM: Better trigger, the same ergonomics, high bore axis.
M&P: Worse trigger, better ergos, same bore axis.
FNP: Bad trigger, same ergos, awful decocker/safety. I honestly have no idea why this is on your list.
I have owned all the above, and now I only own Glocks.
I find additional safeties and loaded chamber indicators (Glock has one, by the way) to be liabilities. So they all try to be Glock, but they improve something while making something else worse.
Your perception of market share is obviously biased. As is mine, because all of my shooter friends shoot Glocks exclusively.
All I know is, I wanted to buy a G34 GEN4 in January and they are still backordered.
Where is that "popcorn" smiley?
Glocks work for what they were designed to be; a universal sidearm carried by millions everyday in all kinds of conditions.
I have one and I like it.
I also like my SIG P229.
They aren't wives, I'm allowed more than one : )
Walther P99 1st gen. decocker, extremely light short DA trigger, second strike capability. No need to rack the slide if round does not fire, ambi mag release, better accuracy, adj rear and choice of different front sight height, 3 different grip / palm sizes (way before the 4th gen G's) . Did i mention better accuracy, better trigger?? just checking.
I have the full 9mm series of glocks, the wife likes the 26, me the other 2 have been collecting dust for years as the P99 and (GASP) Sig 239 are main semi carry pieces.
YMMV
I was thinking the same thing. I like all of my guns, hell I even like the hi-point that I won in a bet. They all have a purpose and I carry them for different reasons (except the high point, I just like it because it is accurate as hell, but completely unreliable). I am not going to take a nice 1911 camping when I know its going to rain. Enter my glock. Variety is the spice of life.
I tried to like Sig, I really did. But all I could think of was how the Glock was superior in every manner.
You are obviously a Glock Fan boy. I support a sales and inventory system and Glock Market shares are down.
XDM: Better trigger, the same ergonomics (nope: Grip safety, better grip angle), high bore axis.
M&P: Worse trigger, better ergos, same bore axis. Meh...
FNP: Bad trigger, same ergos, awful decocker/safety. I honestly have no idea why this is on your list. Darn Wrong: better trigger by far, decocker is an acquired taste but it works, better mag release, better grip angle. The list will go on.
Let me also remind you that the MP and FNP were on the final list for the JCP and that the G21 did not make it pass the first round of selections (based on design)! Even the Taurus OSS was selected! Gosh that's an ugly duck alright!
It's all a question of taste. You like glock: great. You would probably also enjoy driving a Camry or an Accord because that what they are the car equivalent of the glock: a bland gun.
I don't mind using a decocker on my USP if I have to, I love the load indicator on my XDM.
To go back to my original point: Glock are good gun, but there is better gun out there.
Gee, didn't expect the "Fan Boy" to come out. [ROFL2] Typical response to "X gun isn't as good as a Glock because...". I get that a lot, however like most people I fought it tooth and nail by buying every other non-Glock I could before coming back around to Glocks. Even had a 1911 and recently a Sig. Doesn't compare to the Glock.
I forgot about the grip safety. That's a negative.
The FNP's manual safety is useless because it is too sensitive to the decocker. Very very very easy to decock the gun trying to drop the safety, especially under stress, and then you get the less-than-lovely DA trigger pull. The mags do not drop free on any of the FNPs I've touched, and I found nothing remarkable about the mag release.
The Glock didn't make it because the JCP required second strike capability. This isn't a negative, it's the JCP being overly particular in the requirements.
I'm not going to apologize for liking a reliable gun that is easy to maintain, fast to shoot, and has a huge aftermarket, just because it's "bland" to some people. To continue with the poor analogy, if the Glock is a Camry then every other gun mentioned is a riced-out Honda Civic. Basically the same underneath but tarted up just to be different while still being slow and unreliable.
A guy get into a gun store where there is a couple of client waiting, he start talking to one of the gunsmith and says:"I just heard the funniest joke about Glock owners."
One of the client outraged, says, "Sir, I am a Glock owner."
So the first guy offers, "I tell it to you slowly then."
