A PSA. Please read......

As ya know trying to get this place back to where it was is not fun. Many of us are trying to re-create some important threads and rebuild some of what was lost.

Along with that the spammers are in full swing keeping us very busy. Normally violations of the rules are one of those things that for the most part we go very easy on.

I can tell you that from the top on down right now they will be looked upon in a different light. We are trying to work for you but some think this is the time to get away with stuff. I have no idea why but creating extra work for us is not the right thing to do at this moment.

Please read the rules again and be aware that everyone of the staff has a real short fuse at this time. It takes 10 min to explain the rules and point out what you did wrong. It takes 10 seconds to ban you.

I am not yelling nor will I point anyone out but I can say that unless you intend to buy something stay out of the trading post. Also if you post an ad please follow the rules like post a price not some generic gibberish.

And make sure you have posted an acknowledgment in the rules thread. A LOT of those are gone now.

Just trying to help ya out before the boss gets jiggy with it. ;)

There are filters that you can put in place that will keep out 99% of the spammers.

As for the spammers.... is the captcha and email verification in place? If so, maybe create a member group where, until your first post, you can only see the 'rules' thread, therefore forcing acknowledgement. Or make that groups' first post moderator reviewed until they can start spamming everyone.

I just mentioned it since that's the way I had it setup on my old forum. Spam my rules thread, I ban you! I'd volunteer to monitor the thing....

I don't see a captcha or security question on the register page. That would help keep the bots out.

Major crash, and the last back up was november so we lost everything after that.

When did you register here the first time. I think I remember you being around. If so I will change your status so you can see the trading post, and you dont have to go through the 30 period again, shoot me a PM for a quicker responce
