Goin on 3 ft...
...and no snow blower [blackeye]
The whole city of Denver shut down parts house called at noon and said they are going home. All my customers cancelled so I said the hell with it locked up the shop and came home.
The drive home was great seeing all the dumb a$$'s with two wheel drive vehicles stuck on the side of the road.
I have 18" in the back yard and it looks like a 2' plus drift on the AC. [ohno]
That is one of the few advantages to living in a Townhouse. NoSnow removal
I have a 4-5 foot drift in the back yard. Short of that, not a thing is sticking. Its all blowing by around 30mph.
Peterson AFB closed up around 11:00 today. Half day off for me. And I was supposed to fly tonight.
The dogs love the snow.
Between Falcon and Black Forrest current conditions:
Snow...white...can't see past the back porch.
When I returned home at 1:00pm there was 3' drifts in the roads....overall snow depth is about 12". I got home just before they closed US highways 24 and 94.
17inches drifts WELL over 2'
Osprey, I love your signature.
Out throwing the basketball for the dog, since it's the only thing He can't lose at the moment. He fell over in a drift and disappeared. [roll]
I'd swag about 14" here
The drive in and home was fun. There's nothing like watching an Idiot in their little red Mercedes hot rod unable to make it up the tiniest incline due to their high performance racing tires. You don't live on the race track, doofus, you live in C-O-L-O-R-A-D-O. [poke]
Saw another individual with a similar problem in their Porsche. If you only have the Porsche to drive on days like today, you over-extended yourself. You should have taken the money for the Porsche and bought yourself a summer car and a winter vehicle.
I had a very difficult time making it out of the business park. Even when you have a capable vehicle, the other folks manage to block the road. But hey, I just cranked the wheel of the Tahoe to the left and drove up and over the median between the trees and found another way out. [tank]
I can barely see out the windows. I'll let you know when I try to dig out in the morning.
The thing I didn't understand was the dipwads in Tahoes that didn't have them in 4 wheel, sitting there spinning as I drove past.
I went out and plowed it, I didn't measure it.
I AIN'T going back out, just to measure.
Looks to be about a foot and a half.....so far.
Will measure in the morning.
looking down and across the street i can make from the middle of the neighbors car. i ran the snowblower, this morning just to keep up [roll]
figure 2-3' is easier clearing then 4+! !
anywhere from bare spots to 3'+ drifts. yeah like i'm going to work thurs!
i doubt we'll get off the block or out of the alley till late thurs early fridy.
2 houses off secondary road and they have pushed it up onto cross streets
food-check
fluid-check
heat & water-check
PPV--priceless
Latest update, Snow up to the bottom of the dog, Drifting over the dog in some spots. [roll]
He's loving it though. The good thing, He may be to worn out tomorrow.
I'm seeing 2-3' drifts in this apt complex. A full size Chevy pickemup has a drift almost as high as the truck bed rail. A couple of cars are burried along the sidewalks or in front of the building. My '90 4Runner has a drift as high as the rear bumper and almost covering the tires. Saw the aftermath of a slight jack-knifed fed-ex truck on the corner, and a Ford Explorer that took out a street corner sign. Work tomorrow? uh... sure...
I was supposed to be taking Friday off. It appears that I may be taking tomorrow off instead.
Here's fort Collins:

I have a few pictures from early today...not too exciting.
there is a car parked out back that is almost completely burried.. hopefully I can get a picture of that and more tomorrow...
I got about 50ft up my side street towards Mississippi and grabbed my cell phone and told my boss 'No Way'
Fortunately, the guards already there are fully prepared to stick out the night (and probably part of the morning) and soak up the overtime pay.
I may have to go in tomorrow night to cover for another guard that got her car truly stuck in the snow, but that'll depend on roads n stuff.
I can't measure the crap outside. There's so many valleys and drifts.

Cleaned off the deck last time Dozer went out at aprox. 8. Did a crash and burn at 9, just woke up and Dozer went out again, There was about 8" on said Deck.
I got more drifting from the wind, but not a lot more snow really. Looks about 2 foot total maybe. Karl.
about 4' total 3' not drifted.
next purchase will be a self-propelled snow blower. while this little on i have works. the shoulders still take a beating
SO ANYWAY
Who has a blade mounted in the greeley -ft fun area thats looking to aquire some ammo for some "minor" snow removal??
My deck in the back yard. The lump in the middle is my grill.

the parking lot for my complex is littered with cars left by idiots in the middle of the road.

i have no idea how much we got at my house because they closed hwys 24 and 94. sleeping at work really sucks. i hope they open them tonight or i'll be three days in the same shirt and pants.

I just got back inside.. shoveled myself out and went to see what was open.
King Soopers was open and that was about it.
roads were not too bad, its the side streets that are a biotch.
came back, shoveled my parking stall clean, parked it and came inside.
I sure miss my Unimog, that woulda been a hoot today and tomorrow!
I just took the tape measure on the patio out back. 23-27" depending where I measured. Who knows what of that is drifted in and plain fallen, but no matter how you slice it, that's a lot of snow.
2 feet everywhere, drifts to 4 feet, some about 3 feet in long stretches.
I live on a 1/2 mile long dirt road.
No chance, my neighbors and I all got together this morning and spent 4 hours digging it out, with 3 tractors. One jerkwad, who has a tractor didn't get out. I'm like WTF? He say "oh, not my turn"
I buried his driveway, CSer. I dug out other people without tractors.
Then, i got to drive to the church and dig that out. A good solid 30" all the way around. Good thing it has 6' sidewalks, fits the tractor nice. only bent one sign.
That took another 2 hours.
I've been on the tractor or shoveling for 7 straight hours.
Ugh, LOT OF SNOW.
Taller than the great dane.

Kind of funny, That marvel of modern science, the airport that will never close due to a weather related issue, is still closed. Yet, JeffCo, is open and have been landing planes for the last 2 hours.
They didn't build JeffCo in the middle of the plains where there ain't nothing to stop the wind but some barbed wire. Denverpost said 9 to 10 FEET drifts at the airport. You'd think they'd learn.
pics:
The 2 rail fence in front of my yard. That bottom rail is about 6" in diameter and its 18" off the ground from the bottom. Those piles are about 6' tall
http://home.pcisys.net/~bdhopkins/snow/railfence.jpg
My back door. That's my great dane, to give you some idea. That pile to his left is about 5' tall. That planter to the dog's left is 16" tall.
http://home.pcisys.net/~bdhopkins/snow/greatdane.jpg
Out my front door, yes that's a real 14 hand horse behind that pile, gives you some idea of size. These aren't even the big piles.
http://home.pcisys.net/~bdhopkins/snow/piles.jpg
Still more. You can see the street we cleared.

I just pulled the car out to give scale to the drift.
