I like it, but unless I can pound on one personally I can't say.
This has to be one of the most looked at pics or subjects from the Shot Show. Personally, love the looks, design, action, company....not so fond of 5.56. If they can get an 18" multi-caliber option for those of us that don't have/want an SBR license...I'd be wankin nightly in anticipation. Beautiful design, flawed by caliber IMO. ...not to say I'd deny myself a 5.56....
nice company, great ideas and products. but it looks like somethiing to appeal to the must have an H&K crowd. the biggest issue to me would be cost. modualr systems are not exactly cost efficient
I got to see and hold some of these at SHOT show. They were all prototypes (I could tell because all the plastic was SLS made). I can not really say enough good things about what I saw; well made, well thought out, and easy to produce (the receiver is made of a custom aluminum extrusion). Unfortunately I was not able to shoot it at the show but I really look forward to firing one.
BTW they need a 16” or a 14.5” with a permanent 1.5” flash suppressor.
Maybe this is the answer to both the SIG and H&K crowds. I'll have one.. oh yes I will. I too am hoping for something with the functional versatility of the SCAR platform, but we'll just have to see. Hell for a first real venture into the assault weapons platform world.. damn they have the right idea and hopefully bring it to the market.
I will say that I heard through the, I know someone, who knows someone who has a friend who talked to a rep, rumor mill, that we'll see civilian versions available in about 18 months.
Doesn't matter.. I'll have one. Might have to make a club trip to the Boulder shop and ask if we can play with one for a bit :)
I eeally would like to try one of these they look excellent :P 18 months  alot can happen between now and then [postal]
MagPul lists their HQ as Boulder. Wonder why they don't offer a local shooter's club a chance to test drive their products? Can anyone here think of a state-wide club of people interested in firearms?
You mean other than Us?
[wink]
I don't know that they would need any other.
They could drag their production samples to a shoot and have volunteers shoot them.
Be good alpha/beta testing. Since they would take them there and back then I don't think it would run into any legal complications, they would still be in ownership and control.
I think we would be the best to test there product , we have a broad range of expereances as well as a diversity of back grounds and a wide range of finanical back grounds as well as the character to give them an honest report of how well the system worked ,and if good the means and friends to spread reports far and wide which will incress media hype and demand . see they have nothing to lose
All of the reasons I thought of as to why this should be.
Weapons systems for militaries need to be tested by people from all walks of life. They need to be tested under less than ideal conditions.
If the system has problems our group would have the depth of experience to suggest fixes.
So who's gonna email Magpul and volunteer CO-AR15 as guinea pigs?
Magpul recently moved from Boulder to Erie. They are so busy right now they hardly have time to breathe. Richard Fitzpatrick (owner) is a really great guy but I don’t think he has any shortage of Beta testers.
He was also aware of this board when I spoke with him at SHOT.

Sometimes it's fun to dream.
The Magpul guys were very nice and I am sure they would appreciate it if you expressed your interest via Email. Just do not expect anything to happen immediately.
For those of you that remember the off club shoot when I took some people up to Harris Park? Well everybody had left except me and Merl and one of the MagPul guys happen to come to test some stuff and me an Merl shot with him he gave me his card. I could always give him a shout and ask him. I also told him about this site so that could be why they know about it.
