Well executed scam...

So a friend calls and tells me this story. Two of his friends go to buy a Honda car advertised on Craigslist. They meet the guy standing by the car in front of "his" house. Test drive the car, argue price, settle, and count the cash out to the guy. He remembers some personal effects in the trunk. They open it and there is a toaster and a few other things. The friend offers to help carry the stuff up to the house. Suddenly the guy remembers he also forgot his carry pistol under the seat. Jumps in the car and ........hauls butt.....with the just counted cash.

They're left standing holding a toaster and crap wondering what the guy is doing.http://www.zrxoa.org/forums/images/smilies/doh.gif

Somebody leaving their carry piece under the seat would immeadiately send up red flags for me. Not because I'd think they were up to no good, but because someone that A) Tells a complete stranger they carry, B) Is stupid enough to keep the gun under their seat where it's difficult to access while driving, and C) Incompetent enough to leave it there when they step out of the vehicle especially when they're about to sell it... has to be a complete fvcking retard.

Damn that really sucks. One of my cousins in the NE sold his used car several years ago on CL. The buyer paid $8k in cash, and my cousin tested the bills with a counterfeit pen detector, and they all passed. All was well, until he went to deposit the cash it turns out the bills were counterfeit. LE took a report and never was able to find the guy.

This happens here in the springs. Two girls will get you to "take them home" from the respective club or bar. When you get to the pre designated location, you are greeted by multiple men who proceed to rob you at gunpoint. Scumbags are getting crafty these days.

Reminds me, I was at Safeway last week and two guys in a new black Explorer pull up to me while I'm walking to my car. "Hey buddy, we're installing home stereos but have extra, you wanna buy one?" I just looked at them and said, "You're supposed to be in a white cargo van, dumbasses."
