To hide in a room and lock the door (all the rooms I have access to on my floor have no locks- not to mention locking the door would prevent other innocents from getting a hiding place, every man for himself I guess)
To exit the floor in a place that's not visible to the shooter (if the shooter places themselves in the right place, there is no such exit unless one were to throw something through a window and jump)
If all else fails, and only if there is no alternative are you to confront the active shooter, throwing heavy items like a stapler (yes, it ACTUALLY said stapler)
so anyone want to join me for some tactical stapler throwing drills?
