Brazilian fighter jet flyby blows out every pane of glass in Supreme Court

Two Mirage 2000s were taking part in the flyby over the Plaza of the Three Branches on Sunday when "a shock wave caused damage to the windows of some public agencies," the air force said in a brief statement.

Military commanders have ordered an investigation and repairs to the damaged buildings, the air force said.

The flag ceremony takes place once a month in the capital.

The air force's flight demonstration squadron was scheduled to perform at Sunday's ceremony, drawing scores of people into Brasilia's streets for the event.

"A plane went by very low, causing a dust cloud to rise, the ground shook and the windows shattered," student Lucas da Silva told the G1 news Web site.
The Air Demonstration Squadron, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, organized the flight exhibition. EFE

The Mirage can carry more payload higher farther and faster than the F-18 Super Hornet.

Israel survived the Six Days war because of the air superiority of the Mirage.... Out of a total of 58 Arab planes shot down in air combat during the war, 48 were accounted for by Mirages.

During the Kippur war the mirage kill ratio was 21 / 1. Only the F15 exceeded this ratio during the 80' conflict with Lebanon, egypt.

Air-air "combat" is for boys who wish they could participate in close air support with men.

As far as CAS goes, I'm better off throwing rocks at the target than trying to get a Mirage to do anything. Not to mention talking to a French pilot on the radio is more painful than punching myself in the d**k. No offense to anybody here that might be from France. It's just a language barrier thing.
