The ceremony was OK. They couldn't get the Stones? Eric Clapton? Madness was OK, but the lead singer can't hit the same notes anymore. Pet Shop Boys were as flamboyant as ever, and they (he) sounded good. Brian May kicked ass - not bad for a senior citizen! George Michael - are you frickin' kidding me? He looked rode hard and put up wet and his voice is totally shot.
I heard last year that they tried to get John Lennon to do the closing ceremonies, but it turned out he was unavailable.
Still a better chance of getting him than getting the Gallagher brothers to reunite.Quote:
