This time around I think the officer handled this phenomenally...

Hopefully he is like this when the camera is off.
Interesting. The guy carrying and recording seemed to be begging for a confrontation and the officer did an excellent job of handling the situation. When I saw the thread title, I didn't expect him to be carrying a rifle. Most OC people don't OC rifles around town, but to each his own.
When people walk around with cameras, MP5 clones and idiotic attitudes, its only a matter of time before the laws will change and there will be NO open carry anywhere! It pisses me off that the person carrying the MP5 clone assumes that the cop is an idiot and doesnt know the law.
Yeah these guys were 100% looking for an interaction, I thought the officer defused the situation perfectly. The video description on youtube starts like this:
"I went to go visit a friend and we decided to go out on a stroll, so I can make video of Klamath Falls Oregon and determine for others if it would be a safe environment for Constitutional/Liberty loving individuals."
AKA "I'm a jackass"
I have a feeling that didn't go the way the guy quite wanted.
Good job by the cop.
How does walking around the street with an MP5 .22 help any gun cause? Seeing that would make me nervous and I always carry, or have a gun close by. Those guys were dorks.
I think my fav part is what the Cop says at the end
"I like you being out here no one is gunna commit a crime with you guys standing around"
He's right.
So what should people be carrying, were should they be carrying and when should they carry?
I am just wondering what would be acceptable to all?
I think more should walk around with firearms strapped on them self, if they choose! I would like to see someone walking around with an M60 or maybe a complete squad with full auto's and crew served weapons.... Give people something to really cry about!

Stupid little effers watch to much YouTube!
Copper did a great job!
Agreed. Cop did a great job and his partner was vigilant and prepared. While the guy certainly was exercising his 2A right, I agree with those who said he was begging for a cop confrontation. If there is a good part of that, it shows that some cops are well trained and it is likely this cop/partner will discuss the contact with their sworn co-workers and perhaps educate others. The bad part is...open carrying something that looks like an MP5 scares most people, which I don't think helps the 2A cause.

Kudos to the cops for being well-informed and professional. They handled this just right.
The guy was obviously looking for a confrontation, but (as far as I know) that's not against the law. If just being a dick was illegal, a lot more of us would have criminal records.
Don't have time to watch it, but I'd betcha $20 it's that same douchetard that makes all those other OC videos where he's trying to antagonize the po-po into a negative reaction for his YouTube fame.
All things considered the police did a great job and I'm no big fan. The guy was lucky he encountered a good guy.
I wish we could open carry without freaking people out. A national open carry day would be awesome. Give the anti-gun people fare warning.
That cop was awesome; I hope I do my work with level of professionalism and knowledge.
And if you think for a min just cause you kiss ass, they don't think the same about you, your nuts!
O and I will give credit were credit is due, good job! I have now seen two video's were cops actually did there jobs, and kept level headed... To the Cop[Beer] and to the others that do a good job.... To the others I will assume as I do, for those that don't like it, you know what to do!
Boy, that cop was completely "by the book". Nothing wrong with that. Cop did an excellent job.
I wonder if the cop would have acted that way if he didn't know that he was being recorded???
In anyway you look at it the guy sounds like a dork and the cop did a text book stop.
I apologize to those officers on behalf of humanity for them having to deal with idiots of that magnitude.
I pretty much treated people like I was treated when I worked the streets. Funny...I was called a lot of things when I was a cop but "kiss ass" was never one of them.
800,000+ law enforcement officers routinely did their job professionally and according to the law today. You see one video of a guy doing his job professionally, by the book and supportive of the 2nd Amendment rights of the person he stops and your first inclination is to be a dick. Revealing.
Huh...what an ironic statement.
Give that officer a raise.
It will only be a matter of time before all of our PO are engaged in somekind of You Tube enforcement video and all the robbers are left to run on their own while these guys are following up on reports. :)
Can we clone this officer? Possibly the single most positive and professional officer I have ever seen in one of these videos where the smartasses deliberately try to bait the cops into doing something untoward. I fully support the right to open carry, and think that many police departments (*coughCSPDcough*) fail to properly educate their officers. My issue with these attention whore idiots is that they go out with their video cameras and snot-nose, punk ass, overeducated attitudes, deliberately trying to start shit with officers whose time could be far better utilized. I don't know about anyone else, but my first reaction when a police officer asks me a polite question is to give a polite, and appropriate answer, even if that answer is "I don't believe that is any of your business, Officer", rather than start escalating both the tone and volume of my voice while spouting court precedents and code sections.[Rant1][Rant2][ROFL1]

No, I don't. And I think I'll be staying. Deal with it.
Awesome video.
The guy making the video might be an ass trying to start a confrontation with the cops, but at least he put this video up with (I'm assuming) others videos that may not have went so well.
Cop did a great job! Yes the kid was looking for confrontation. So what? He was schooled and let go. Great job by the Officer, we need more like him.
I agree the officer acted perfectly! Polite and professional the whole time. And I still believe that's the same antagonistic asshole that tries to bait cops everywhere he goes by OC'ing as blatantly as he can and videotaping every second of it, while he spews and quotes about his rights and violations of blah, blah, blah....I don't consent to blah, blah, blah....
OC is a right we should all be proud to have, and exercise or not as we each see fit. But that dickweed ain't doing any of us any favors, IMO.
That's an excellent vid! Like the officer being professional and knowing his shit. The guy recording not so much even though he was out there exercising his rights it totally didn't go his way and he didn't sound like he knew his stuff 100%. He was just looking to pick an argument.
The officer did a good job. This idiot is only out looking for trouble, I love the confrontationists who think they're cool and doing a good thing when in reality they're just giving those who oppose gun rights more ammo! Also I checked the youtube video, this guy disabled comments, guess he can't take the criticism!
Classic example of an ass-clown open carrying to make a point and try to provoke a confrontation with either a citizen or a police officer. I would have called the cops on this idiot as well. Open carrying an MP5 clone- What an ASS.
