Why is it that every other animal species on this planet is allowed to defend itself in some form or fashion, but humans restrict it? Self defense is NOT evil. Hell, it's flat out un-natural to NOT defend one's self.

I use Sgt York as an example of pacifism who did what needed to be done in the face of danger, to save his life.
I stress in class, it's something i hope i never need to do, however they need to make a decision. When the flag drops, are you a survivor, or victim?

That's certainly one interpretation. One noted biblical scholar has pointed out that there are at least 65 varying interpretations of the Sermon on the Mount, including some that call for passivity in response to violence.

Hence why I don't get into the whole religion thing. Funny how the right views Ayn Rand as a champion of conservatism, yet she was a very outspoken atheist and even went as far to call Jesus a fool. Oh and S.E. Cupp is an atheist conservative... Freedom of religion can also mean freedom from religion. I can't seem to find "freedom from religion" in the constitution. Nor would I say that either Rand or Cupp would support your idea that freedom of religion means freedom from religion.
