"Now that's how it's done!!"
Showed them.
Wow.
Played a stupid game, won the stupid trophy.
More oxygen for me.
One less vote for nobama
you cannot get any dumber.
my neighbor came over today to show me his M&P 9 he just picked up.
hands it over to me "its not chambered or anything"
me "i have heard that before, sorry i always check," drop the mag and clear the chamber as he watched the live round come out and hit the ground.
Dumfounded as to how that could be
always check the chamber,
and just for the record, i don't really care to know the proper way to shoot yourself in the head.
If this is what he was demonstrating; the proper method for shooting yourself in your head, he succeeded. More importantly, he showed perseverance when confronted with adversity. If at first you don't succeed, squeeze, squeeze, squeeze again.
Perhaps the silver lining in this will be for the other adults who were present and arguing about the proper method for shooting yourself in your head. Sometimes it pays to be wrong.
Be safe.
Doesn't the side of the extractor claw stick out and have red paint on the top if a cartridge is chambered in it? I know recently I've started rubbing the extractor on my Glocks immediately before clearing them just to re-enforce the habit. If the M&P is the same, this might be something to add to this guy's re-education process.
actually i did not look for an indicator of any kind, just out of habit dropped the mag and cycled the chamber
The extractor doesn't stick out on the M&P, but there is a hole in the top that allows you to see brass in the chamber.
Just for redundancy sake: Treat all firearms as if they are loaded.
Call me anal retentive, but unless I check it, I don't consider it clear. Not an absolute, but I was taught that good etiquette is to drop the mag and lock the slide open before handing a semi-auto pistol to someone. Revolvers, open the cylinder and pass it while grasping the top strap.
Be safe.
Too bad we don't get to see it on youtube, for educational purposes of course. It would teach us firearms safety much more efficently! Oh sometimes I lose my head over these issues...
Conway, South Carolina, nuff said.
Reckon he had that piece cocked to the side for the kill shot?
Loaded or not, never cover anything you don't want to destroy. Especially your head.[Wow2]
