List your dove recipes
Everyone does the bacon thing either pan fry, oven or bbq. After over 40 years these get pretty old.
Here are my favorites:
Dove Gumbo (30 minutes- serves 6-9)
12 or so Dove breasts
1 lb smoked sausage (like Hillshire Farms)
1 box Zatarains Gumbo Mix w/ rice
Pan fry sausage with dove in butter and then follow dirrections on Gumbo box.
Hawaiian Garlic Dove (15 minutes- serves 2-3) Like Hawaiian shrimp but with dove
6 dove breasts
1/4 cup flour
2 tbs Paprika
1/2 tsp Cayenne
1/2 cup clarified butter plus 2 tbs
1 heads of garlic (10 cloves) chopped
1/4 cup wine or beer
Put all dry ingredients in a zip lock bag and shake to mix.
Heat fry pan with clarified butter. Add garlic and cook 1 minute.
While garlic is cooking put dove in dry ingredient bag and shake to coat.
Carefully put dove in garlic/butter and fry for 3-4 minutes per side.
DO NOT let garlic burn.
When the dove are done put in the wine or beer and the last 2 tbs of butter.
Serve warm on rice or don't... but the garlic sauce on rice is outstanding

Marinate in seasoning overnight, teriyaki is good. Then put them with a piece of hard cheese and a slice of Anaheim pepper. wrap in bacon and BBQ. Perfect

In a smoker with apple wood.
Seriously though, you're tired of bacon? Isn't that a man-card violation?[Tooth]

Not tired of bacon... tired of bacon wrapped dove

Both of those recipes sound really good. My wife will probably throw some bacon in there somewhere to kick em up a notch.[ROFL2]Next time you make it, shoot a pic of it, the garlic recipe sounds fantastic.
We had to add pig fat to the wild hog we got in May to make it juicier-er. Gotta be some way to add dove to the piggy.....

The Garlic Dove is good... like the Hawaiian Garlic Shrimp from the North Shore.
But the Gumbo is in a league of its own. There is no way to dry out the dove as they are cooking in the Gumbo. The Gumbo is probably the best way to never have a dried out dove.
I'll have to remember to take some pics

My wife makes a Dove stirfry with lots of veggies. Im not sure what or if she has a recipe for it but it is semi-sweet stirfry. Probably any beef or chicken stirfry recipe would work.

if you're getting tired of bacon wrapped dove, then you're eating them too often. Don't eat them all right after season and they taste as good later as they do sooner.
The group I hunted with this year deep fat frys all thier dove on Labor day. I stuck around with the group and got in on the eatin' and they were pretty good that way too.

Any chance I can convince the OP to repost these recipes in the Recipe of the Day thread here: http://www.ar-15.co/forums/showthread.php?t=19665 ?
Not bad to have them here, but would love to see them also posted in the thread with other recipes to cut down on the searching when I'm looking for them later.
