RECOIL Magazine Jumps the Shark...

Not a subscriber, never owned the mag but one of my readers made me aware of this in RECOIL Issue #4:

‎"...the MP71A is unavailable to civilians and for good measure. We all know that's technology no civvies should ever get to lay their hands on. This is a purpose-built weapon with no sporting applications to speak of."

Wow ... they Zumbo'd and then the editor came along and doubled down on it (while at the same time trying to backpedal...hope he didn't pull a muscle with that BS).

Obviously there is some bias there, him owning a rival company and all.

That said, I've become a big fan of voting with my wallet over the last couple of years. There are some companies I simply will not support because of their policies or politics. I'm going to have to do some reading on this HK issue but they may have just been added to that list.

Or G.I. 's are the only ones allowed to have MRE's.

Sporting reasons? Who gives a fuck about sporting reasons? The 2A is about the ability to overthrow tyrants. I'd prefer them to ban hunting than full auto's. Come and get me.

You're not joking there, those things can be wicked.

But I totally agree with the guy and "voting with his wallet" I won't own ANYTHING made by HK just because they hate civilians. I like thier guns, and they make some cool stuff, but they are a no-go in my book.

Anyone who does buy from HK should reconsider. HK hates you, so why give them your money?

Damn, Reed Knight has an outrageous collection of firearms and armor. Space Coast economy is desperate since the Space Shuttle quit flying. Found this place from the "Recoil" magazine online. Makes me want to go back to my old neighborhood!

I admit I have an HK product. VP70Z "Z" stands for "zivilian". First polymer pistol ever. Only has like 4 moving parts...

While cool for what it is, that's one hell of an ugly gun.

HK lost my interest and business over 10 years ago. I'll never own anything from HK. I don't care how "cool" their overpriced/over-hyped products are.

I've always thought HK made top-notch firearms, and judging by their customers that seems to be true. However, I always considered them quite overpriced with roughtly equivalent American made products. Happy I own BCM, S&W, Ruger, and Browning.

Sure they can say the founding father didn't envision civilian with full auto small arms, but libs ignored the fact that the the founding father didn't envision governments in control of Nuclear or Bio/Chemical Weapon of Mass Destruction either. RECOIL well and truly stepped in it. Panteo Productions and ITS tactical have pulled their advertising.

Turns out regurgitating the Brady Campaign's talking points isn't good business for a gun magazine. Who knew?

The Facebook comments are priceless, they range from complete and utter rage to "ill still buy Recoil, you guys are butthurt, and you can go pound sand."

The last thing we need is to give the Brady Campaign this kind of ammunition. There is no sporting clause in 2A, it was designed so the people were to be just as well armed as the military.

That whole "the founding fathers never envisioned us having full auto, military style, blah blah blah" arguing meant is so laughable to me.

On the contrary, the founding fathers knew that their civilians/citizens would be armed with the exact same weapons as their military. We may laugh at a black powder, single shot rifle/pistol/canon nowadays, but those were high-tech military grade weapons of those times.

Sounds to me like the founding fathers WANTED the civilians/citizens to have as much of an even playing field with the military as possible.

You know, that whole "checks and balances thing."

But I digress.

Its a bit disheartening to still see banner ads from BCM and Magpul running on recoilweb.com. Kinda makes their (BCM and Magpul) big statements about not supporting recoil ring kind of hollow.
