I'm moving out there this week, and I'll be looking to open up new bank accounts.
Can anyone recommend a bank for basic checking and savings?
I'll be living in Boulder and working in Commerce City if that has any bearing.

1st bank of colorado
local, locally owned
very few BS fees, I believe they have free checking accounts with a low minimum
they are everywhere in colorado, no fees for their ATM's
Been with them 20+ years.
find a credit union. better rates! and usually no bs
my wife and i use bellco credit union and wells fargo bank
I've got to second 1st Bank. I've used them for about 15 years. There are ATM's everywhere, many Kings Soopers have either the ATM or a mini 1st Bank in them, though a different bank is going into new stores. Never had a problem with them and the number of fees has gone done.
I use Chase but it's because 90% of my banking is is done online and they've done the best that I've seen with all of that. Customer service call centers leave a bit to be desired, but I don't need them too often.
Still, the CU's are a great way to go and most of them are in an association so you can use just about any CU ATM or brick and mortar store as if it were your home CU.
I like wells fargo. They treat me right.
because you deserved that
and because I'm a nice guy

I use 1st Bank and Chase. 1st Bank has some of the best interest rates around for checking accounts. Chase is nice since they have the best online system and both of my car loans and Visa are through them.
STAY AWAY -WAY AWAY- FROM WELLS FARGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They have caused me pain and heart ache.
wells fargo and bank of amerika both suck.
I have had nothing but great experiences w/ Bank of The West (formerly Commercial Federal Bank) over the past 15 yrs. here.
