While it looks neat, I don't like it. If you can't fire it like that (well, I guess you can once), it doesn't have much use to me. And all kinds of crap would end up in the upper/carrier.
Nice ides, however this takes up less space. Until i get the Sig 516 SBR.

I cant see a legitimate function for that...
not on a semi-automatic.
Sorry guy. Legitimate function and guns don't belong in the same sentence.
It's a gun let them put on it what they want. Bad enough the FDE fad has taken hold and not disappearing anytime soon.
If i was to do a folder it would be another 556 sig, factory ready and works open or closed.
Not the same here. In the AR platform, the bolt slides back into the buffer tube (stock) and returns to the receiver. If you set this thing off with stock folded, the bolt carrier group would either set up residence in your race or go flying off. There would be nothing to stop the BCG and return it.
same idea designed differently, no buffer tube : PARA Tactical Target Rifle

Looks like the same principal Oly arms used on their OA93 pistol and one other company offered a conversion unit to have a functioning side folder .
Looking back at the "latest" innovations for guns. How much do you think bushmaster/ Gwinn mfg. lost by not keeping their old ARM pistol and rifle piston side folding rifles?
