When Nature Calls...

Ok... I have been in this situation and I am wondering how some of you handle it. You are out at a Mall, resturant or whatever in a public place and you have to use the public restroom stall and you are carrying. What do you do with your weapon? (calm down, I know you could come up with a butt load of puns in this post but try to resist).
Here is what I do: If the stall has a flat spot over the paper, I unholster and lay it there, barrel pointing towards the door. I probably should take the round out of the chamber, but sometimes, time just isn't on my side.
If there no flat spot over the paper, which is most often the case, I unholster, and cradle it, barrel pointing towards the door, in my pulled down pants crotch (too much information?). Once again I should probably unchamber the round, but often times don't.

What do you think? Is this standard procedure for this situation? This is something that most CCW classes don't include. The last thing you want happening is having your 1911 flopping down on the floor frightening everyone in the restroom, or worse yet an accidental discharge.

Sounds like you got the routine (and your pants) down [ROFL1]. I wouldn't be unchambering rounds in the mens room though...

I tend to do the exact same as stated in the original post. I don't bother unchambering a round though.

Yeah, nothing ruins a good poo like a .45 HP rolling over from the stall next to you.

i leave it in the holster and leave that on my belt. i carry strong side forward and it ends up sitting between my boots muzzle to the floor. are some of you taking your pants off in a public restroom? wait if you are i don't want to know.

Yeah, don't unchamber. The more you fiddle with it, the more you're likely to have an accident.

I wear a Galco IWB holster which allows me to unsnap the holster (gun and all) from my belt and pull it out. That way I can set down the holster w/o ever removing the gun -- NO chance of screwing that up and blasting the poor fellow next door.

I loosen my belt (Wilderness) but don't unhook it. Keep the IWB holster on the belt and spread my legs to keep the holster off the ground.

Just wear depends then you won't need to use a public rest room. [ROFL2]

I CCW in a CTAC and just draw the pistol & sit it in the crotch of the skivvies till ya are done.
