I don't see why the whole election would/should be delayed, although the voting in the affected areas could be thrown out of whack. All the rest of the country could still put their 2 cents in, and just wait for the rest to catch up. Don't see where it would be too much different from voting early by mail.
But the way I tend to see things (logically) often has nothing to do with reality. I'm sure one side or the other, or both sides, will come up with some way to scream about how they got cheated. Regardless of how many dead and homeless there may be, or how many billions in damages......
An election could be delayed if the individual state's laws provided for it. But constitutionally, each state's law does control how it returns its electors. Bush v. Gore.
I could see certain districts having delayed voting if they were effected but I don't see a blanket delay across the country.
And as someone else already mentioned Media is usually blowing these things waaaay out of proportion. As a Florida native and someone who has been through many many Huricanes I am always frustrated by the panic the media creates.
I can remember sitting on the beach with my surfboard ready to go out and catch some waves and watching the weather channel reporters standing there filming the news and acting like they were about to be blown over [ROFL2] Pretty funny stuff.

not sure. I wouldn't think so. with early voting, mail in ballots, absentee ballots, etc.
It is possible it would keep those who wouldn't normally vote out of the state if they left, or in their homes and boarded up. but it might also open up the possibility for people to cast multiple ballots if there is some mass hysteria. Of course all of this is going to happen anyways.
I don't think it will be that terrible of a storm, just lots of rain, some snow etc. nothing a little prepping wouldn't let you make it through.
Delaying the election would create a huge constitutional firestorm. If you thought Bush v. Gore was bad, just wait for someone to try to take THIS to court. Won't happen this year anyway as the poll trends show any delay in the election would be bad for Obama. In fact, if he had his way, we should have held the elections in July (with appropriate early/multiple voting, of course).
This storm is going to have to evolve into more than it is to delay an election. And, if it did, this country is litigious enough to make things a nightmare.
