watching an episode of Alaska state troopers. And the trooper says "he has an M-16 assault rifle."
Really? You think a poor native living in barely more than a shanty has an "M-16"?

Priorities, the shanty owner has them.
Obviously you have been missing out on what our compadres to the south own.
Hey... At least the term "assault rifle" would apply if the guy did have an M16.
If he bought it in the 70's or early 80's he could easily own one. Before 86' full autos didn’t command the kind of premiums they do now and I’ve read stories from some long time owners that during the 70’s there were times when they were cheaper than semis.
Recently though things have gotten out of hand :) http://www.machinegunpriceguide.com/...hine_guns.html
Disregard, I can't read.
We just got 40 M16 rifles from the Army. They are outstanding. In Alaska the State Trooper is GOD. Doesnt matter which god you like. They are it. Wish I wah younger I would move to Alaska.
I wish I had an M16
i wish i could have one in 3 round burst, that would be awesome
Never had the opportunity but I'm thankful for those that have.
Back in 95' one of my co-workers told me that her and her husband had formed a corp and they were putting every penny they could save into legal machine guns. Seemed like a waste to me at the time but looking back they're probably living pretty well if they kept up that strategy.
From the investment standpoint it doesn't seem unreasonable that prices could double again in the next 10 years especially for collectables like real Colts.
Even RDIAS which have been in the $12-14K range for the last few years are hitting $18 - 20K in the last month or so. Kind of crazy for a piece of metal that anyone with some skill... (and a desire to go to prison) could probably make in an hour.
