Sorry to hear it.. I got new calls on refi.. but purchase clients are scared to move forward.
Yeah, I cant see this being a good year for me in racing.
Edit-
Still firming up, but my plans are along these lines-
close the shop to 90% of the customer work, not like there are going to be a lot out there anyway, will only do work for people I like.
pick up a few more rental properties here and in China
go back to trading the markets on a regular basis
Possibly go racing, assuming anyone wants to spend the money. Already getting reports from other teams of sponsors stalling on deals or cutting funding by half or more... its going to be bad
Its not easy... and not going to completely derail this thread with the how and why. I will say that the Chinese government is trying to discourage real estate speculation so they typically only allow citizens to own property, and typically only one property per person of age- so you can own one, your wife can own one, and your child can own one if they are of age, so it is not easy to be a land baron....
Sorry to hear that Neal. Keep your head up!
Look into Bali Island instead. I have one that's renting to a nice Korean expat for $6000! I am looking at properties in Singapore at the moment. These are International destination - a lot of expats, American schools etc. My bro in law moved to Singapore 4 years ago (after BO was elected the 1st time), he is making $$$ w/ his engineering master degree.
I'd stay away China - they have their own bubble. Hong Kong and Macau inclusive.
Yeah, not really holding my breath for getting back to full time employment anytime soon here.
we looked at a transfer to Singapore about 6 months ago....after a LOT of serious consideration, we decided that we wanted our kids to grow up in the United States. I now question our decision . (we also looked at a transfer to Zurich) if either was to come up again, we may reconsider
Sorry to hear bro.
Singapore is boasting 15-20% GDP growth. Yet, they manage inflation to all time low. I remember when CNN asia interviewed the trade minister and asked for their secret. He said, we sent our best and brightest to the US to learn economics and free markets and apply it here to the letter.
Now I am depressed.
Some good things about Singapore but remember they do NOT have a Second Amendment there. If you think Kommiepornia is bad ...
I just want to diversify my rental properties so one or two international is all im going for. One asian and on south american is likely. Gotta finish this one in greeley first
You dudes are making no sense to me.
Im discussing that in less than 12 hrs a real legit business located on American soil is in jeopardy over last night events.
I'm one small company. ONE! How much of this happing all over the country today, right now, as I type..........
the company my wife works for is cutting approx 1000 jobs due to obamacare. she works for a medical device company , there's a new tax on MDC's that is costing multi million to their company....
all money that will be made up from cutting expenses like R&D and payroll
Was told today due to Ocare look for 50% of the surgeons and med service people in NOCo to retire within the year. This from 3 Dr's within the hr, not i heard from someone who knows someone.
Tinelement,
As someone who lost his business due to the economy falling apart, I can tell you this:
Have your house in order and make sure you are looking at income options.
I waited too long and by the time I was looking for work there just wasn't anything (and I mean anything) available. I don't know what would have happened if it wasn't for a couple very good friends.
That was 4 years ago and we are making a come back, but we hit the bottom damn hard.
^^ thanks for the heads up!
