short story, 5 came, one left. 4 shots fired. Just couldn't get #5 back into range for a shot. Longest shot on stand was maybe 80 yards.

What do most people do with Coyotes when they shoot them?
You and I asked the same question at the same time, in different threads! Great minds think alike, and all that stuff...

I usually freeze the coyotes whole that are worth selling and then sell to Petska furs who periodically run a route through Colo. A high percentage of the coyotes that I've killed so far this fall have had mange, and of course, they aren't worth diddley but need shot none-the-less.
A freind of mine in KS. tells me of another guy that has sold some coyotes in the round to a buyer in Ft. Collins and is getting $17./ea. That's much better than I've gotten for the last several years.
For $17 is it really worth it to drag it home and put it in your freezer? I know my wife would kick my ass if she opened up the freezer and found a coyote in it.
double post
yeah, I have a seperate chest freezer for this purpose only. And if someone else is thinking about doing this, I will tell you that you need to put each coyote in a seperate trash bag, otherwise, you'll end up with one big hunk of frozen together fur ball, and good luck getting it out of the freezer. Don't ask me how I know this.
is it worth it, ya gotta answer that one for yourself. But concider that I've killed 53 since Oct. 5th and we're coming into the prime fur season, I will be freezing a few just because they'll add up pretty quickly at $17./ea.
Well done man. That's awesome.
nice shooting
SWEET!!
