Preemptive Karma?

So I was about to leave the house to go to a coffee shop to get my wife some hot chocolate and get myself some coffee. As I'm about to leave, I tell her I'm planning on paying for whoever is behind me in the drivethru, since a couple weeks ago somebody did that for me. So I pull into the drivethru, place my order, and notice nobody is behind me. So I take my time getting up to the window hoping somebody will pull up behind, but nobody did. Anyway, I get to the window and the lady tells me that the people in front of me paid for my stuff! Preemptive karma!!!

Moral of the story: Before you leave the house to go buy something, tell your wife you're going to buy whatever the person behind you in line is getting. That way you end up getting your stuff for free!

I am going to MGTs to buy PMags and pay for the guy behind me...

Turns out there was not much to buy. Dropped off some Cinnamon suckers for the staff though. They looked haggard.

Yea, looked like whipped pups. Still courteous though, just wish they had more AR stock.

I don't know. Is that a normal thing? Apparently you're suppose to tip your maid at a hotel, too. I just learned that recently. Just when I think I know everything...

How exactly do you tip the maid? I never see her.

Before I had a transponder, someone in front of me paid my toll on the FL turnpike. Humanity isn't lost just yet.

Leave it in the room I guess? My neighbor used to be a hotel maid and she said a vast majority of people left a tip for her.

5% of nightly rate, leave it on the pillow/nightstand when you leave.

Well, you talked about doing it, and someone beat you to the punch, so apparently it is a "thing" now.

Yes, you are supposed to tip your maid. I remember when I learned you are supposed to tip the haircut lady. Basically, you are supposed to tip anyone who provides a service. I've never tipped a mechanic though.

I don't tip when I go to the coffee shop, but all I get is black coffee. I'll be damned if I tip somebody for filling a cup with coffee. But now that I think about it, I would tip a bartender for filling a glass with beer. Man, my whole world just flipped upside down.

When I did a lot of trackside service I would get tipped
I still get tipped by good customers when they are pretty happy with the work performed.

I always buy for LEOs, EMTs, and Fire Fighters if they happen to be there when I'm getting coffee. My work days involve very little human interaction. Being that theirs do, I feel that sending them on their way with appreciation for their fellow man will spread outward.

I don't tip at fast food places, ever. I sometimes will tip a restaurant when I pick up food, but no more than $2.00.

Now I feel like a jerk dwalker.

I go to the dealership for my work. It's all warranty work though. I never actually see the guy that works on my car.

My own rule of thumb is if I have personal interaction, I tend to tip. Most mechanics never interact with the customer, but some, especially independents do. When I get tipped these days its when I have gone above whats expected for the customer.

I've been tipped at the dalership before-or was that tipsy??[Swim]

I had one guy give me a $100 bill for staying all night to fix his truck.He was going cross country when his truck broke down,and had to make it to where he was going at a certain time.
We diddn't have the part and the closest one who did was 3 states away.So off I drove to pick it up and put it in.
I knew what it was like to be brokedick halfway through your trip-no fun...

Pretty high quality original OP post Christmas cheer that. Makes me want to do it just to prove to myself that I can!

I tried to say the guy behind me would pay for my order once.........they did not go for it.
