Just had an idea....
I think The American People need to start a postcard campaign, and flood the White House, and the offices of every Senator and Congressman with postcards that merely say "Molon Labe".
What do you guys think?

Just had an idea....
I think The American People need to start a postcard campaign, and flood the White House, and the offices of every Senator and Congressman with postcards that merely say "Molon Labe".
What do you guys think?
I like it. Gets the point across.
Like.
They will just collect return addresses... Besides, you assume any of them are smart enough to figure out what it means.
Debbie Downer....
Do post cards have a return address???
ETA: http://www.zazzle.com/molon+labe+postcards
I like it. Perhaps with a picture of your EBR.
This is another verbatim scene from the book, Enemies Foreign and Domestic. If you haven't read it, give it a look.
Who the hell is gonna put their return address on it? All they need is to see postcards coming in postmarked from all over the country, with the same two-word message. I think this needs to be pushed to every gun forum on the 'net.
And any moron can find out the meaning in 20 seconds on Google.
And personally, I wouldn't buy pre-made postcards, I'd buy blank ones and run 'em through my printer putting my own design on them. Simple, just the words, don't need any guns or designs on them. I think the Post Office still sells simple blank postcards, and the postage may be a little cheaper than using stamps. Don't know, worth looking into.
I like this....
Think about it.....if we could get every concerned gun owner we know to mail just a dozen postcards to the White House, their Senaturds, and CongressFools, there could be hundreds of thousands, maybe millions, of these coming in postmarked from all over the country, with the same two-word message.
I like this. Anonymous gun owners saying "WE'RE HERE YOU ASSHOLE" might make an impact. Let's send them...
I say anonymous because many of us are living in locations where their Reps don't give a shit what they have to say (Boulder). I am in one of these locations. When (OK, if....) they start knocking on doors, do I want to be one of the first on their list because of a postcard I sent a year earlier?
I'm totally down for this. I'm going to print some postcards that just say Molon Labe on the front. On the back, they will say something to the effect of "remember who you work for."
Simple and to the point! [Beer]
I like this idea. I think I'd start at the state level first, though. Or buy 2 cards...one to the WH, one to the governor.
It doesn't have to be a post card. Just a letter with a piece of paper with "Molon Labe" scribbled on it will do the trick.
I'm gonna do it.
Great idea, should be prefaced with the oath elected officials take to abide by and uphold the Constitution and the statement: "You work for US".
I would not put any image of a firearm on it whatsoever. Look what they do to schoolchildren that draw a picture of one..........
Need to spread this idea to every forum, even if not firearm related.
Agree, every supporter of the 2nd should send one of these to their police chief/sheriff, mayor, governor, senator, representative, and the white house, postage collect. Pressure on local government puts pressure higher up, pressure higher up keeps pressure on local government. They all need to understand where the US Citizen stands on this issue, and it is not with them.
Someone better with artsy stuff than me should put together a nicely done MOLON LABE postcard along the lines of ...
MOLON LABE- Come take them, we will be waiting...
ETA-
I would think the message sent with all the EBR and other firearms sales the past week, the record attendance at gun shows etc. might give them an idea of what they are facing, and it is not time for gun owners to turtle and remain silent, but to become more vocal and put the pressure on them to remind everyone, politely, that we are a free country for a reason, and we will not live in fear of our government, not now, not ever.
A post card for every gun you own, I love this idea.
I like the idea, while I have no creative side, I think it should be kept non threatening but a reminder as to who they are supposed to represent and work for. I would kick in $ to help move it along. If it goes forward, contact me and I'll help.
I am down.... Going to send my card Monday.
Great Idea! Send them to all you your reps. Are there any local printers on the forum that want to do some up?
Sounds like a threat to me, could just egg them on.
Besides how many of you would actually do something if the national guard showed up at your front door to collect your guns.
Don't get me wrong I'm all for protecting our rights, but 1,000's of people sending letters stating "come and take them" just sounds like you're egging them on.
grow a set already! THEY are trying to take your possessions and remove your own personal protection. Egging them on? How about reminding them that the 2nd does not guarantee the right to shoot Bambi in the woods, but DOES guarantee the RIGHT to shoot politicians when necessary? How about reminding them that THEY are elected, not crowned, and that if they continue to ignore the 800lb Gorilla in the room he will make his presence known in a way they might not appreciate? How about getting pissed off and caring what happens to this country rather than be afraid of being called a gun nut or extremist or some other liberal bullshit?
How about I hope they feel threatened and I hope they remember the Civil War, which was not fought over slavery, but an oppressive government. How about being a student of history instead off a victim of it?
RCCrawler does make a good point however, they would twist it into a threat.
Like I said, quote their oath of office, the 2cnd(Federal or State as appropriate) with "Shall not be infringed" in bold, close with "You work for US".
Simple, yet bold.
I changed the wording a little bit on mine. Instead of "remember who you work for" It's going to say "Remember who you were elected to serve."
Return address is going to just say "The American People"
I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.
I put this on everything I send to them.
I like this..............A LOT!
We must hang together, gentlemen...else, we shall most assuredly hang separately."
like it!!!!
To those that are going to print their own post cards, remember that each printer prints a micro ID on everything it prints out.
I saw this on CSI, so it must be true.......[LOL]
The biggest pain about all of this is the postage.... but if you can't afford to spend an hour or two and $20 to send out 62 postcards, then your freedom must be pretty far down on your list of priorities...
Seriously, Postcards are only $.32 each to mail, and you can print them yourself on cardstock or heavy paper. They just need to meet these standards:
- Rectangular
- At least 3-1/2 inches high x 5 inches long x 0.007 inch thick
- No more than 4-1/4 inches high x 6 inches long x 0.016 inches thick
http://www.contactingthecongress.org/ Click on a state, then click on a member's name on the left to get their mailing address in DC, along with their DC phone, fax and contact form. In some cases, they even have twitter accounts posted. How funny would it be if we all tweeted several times a day with just the words "MOLON LABE.... Remember who you serve senator (or representative)." and then tag them in it. Tweeting is free. and annoying. [LOL]
