Especially if we adopt the outlook that we are screwed.
The real fight is ahead of us. We need to show up enmasse next Saturday and we need to burn up the phone, e mail and snail mail lines.
We are Americans, we don't concede a fight, we embrace it.
Quitting early already? Come on, show some backbone.
And don't believe anything written in the Huffington post, sheesh.
Quote:
In recent decades, Democrats have done increasingly well as young coastal transplants flocked to Denver and its suburbs. The traditionally red state helped elect Barack Obama president in 2008 and chose him again in November, when the party won back the legislature.
This is the real problem now... How many Colorado residents are actually "Coloradans"?
“Be not intimidated...nor suffer yourselves to be wheedled out of your liberties by any pretense of politeness, delicacy, or decency. These, as they are often used, are but three different names for hypocrisy, chicanery and cowardice.”
― John Adams
I don't plan to become a subject to anyone.
Give it another 5-10 years of these transplants here in Colorado and it will look like California, Detroit, and New York, along with every other city the progressives and illegals have flocked to. America has been hijacked from within and taken hostage by a system of failure and corruption.
Never give up, never surrender. [panic]
Sorry, I just had to put that one in.
There is a lot of opportunity for us to fight these legislative attempts. There are opportunities for us to get votes in the US Senate from redstate/rural Democrat senators up for reelection soon. Even here, Udall may be more vulnerable than he'd like, and subject to some pressure.
Do the work of writing often, calling often.
It's not a Lobby it's a fucking right!
I wish people here would stop saying "we're fucked". NO! We are not! Any ban in DC has to be OKed through congress/senate and even the NRA says we have the votes to stop a ban. Sure there might be some other things we might have to give away, hopefully we can control that from being over bearing. But in light of what the gun grabbers are talking, we aren't fucked. They just don't have the votes to get it through. We have to be loud, not poo-pooing: "oh we're so fucked" and giving up. Never give up!!!!!
While I get what your saying, I am happy that I live here and proud of where I grew up. In my opinion, when I was in Iraq I didn't just represent where I grew up, I represented all of the states therefore I should be treated on an equal level with real "Coloradans"
Thank you.. Corporal..
It was not the true Califonians that ruined California. When I grew up California was still very much rural/agricultural, at least up north. Most in my hometown were from Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Missouri. Hard work, helping your neighbor, and respect were ground into your head at a young age. I still cannot call those 20 years my senior by their first name, or at least I always feel weird about it. Part of that culture was to start shooting at a young age (5 in my case) so that you could provide and protect your family. Those values have been lost in California as every nut bag in the country flocked there starting in the 60's.
I finally had enough and when the opportunity arose to move here to Colorado arose I jumped. It was here or Montana. I am not going to see another state that I love ruined by stupidity. My point, people of conviction and morals are from everywhere. Division helps no one.
Surrender?
NUTS!
I'm not a CO native... I moved her from CA. But I moved AWAY from CA for a reason! I'll be damned if I'm gonna let CO turn into another CA! I'm actually a Missourian... but the military has had me all over this country. My heart is in CO and I consider myself a Coloradan through and through! I'll stand up and fight for CO. I'll be there on Sat the 19th at noon... fighting for CO!
you know, so much of what is going on seems like you would only see it in a hollywood movie. funny thing is, if I saw what is happening in a movie, it'd probably be pretty good.
I am a Colorado Native, a 5th generation one at that. Ancestors first farm was west of what is now Monument hill in the 1860s. They were joined by other family members who fought in the civil war on both sides. Personally I worried that the socialist side of the Federal Govt and the Media (Huffington post a good example of many) appear to be pushing and pushing to attack the older American values and lifestyles. It's like the Media is constantly putting out propaganda against all the old values whether it be guns, sex, patriotism you name its under attack. When I was kid we did not the Internet or 1000 TV channels to promote the propaganda that we are seeing now. Almost all forms of entertainment have some form of subliminal message. Our culture is being change from both the media and educators. It's quite sad, however hopefully there are enough of us still left in this great country to stop this liberal socialist madness that has arisen
It's the big cities that are the problem. Much of California is still quite rural, but the libs that flock to the big cities end up over-ruling the rest of the state. Hell, look at how much of the entire country is being governed by what the several big population centers want? It's insane.
Maybe 'fly-over country' should go on strike and let the big cities grow their own food. :D
You are not alone sir. How do we fix it? If we had a TV channel linked to the internet that promoted the American values we hold dear, could it be successful, or would it just get labeled as right-winger propaganda? I like to believe that there are enough red-blooded Americans in this country that still believe in those values. This last election has shown me otherwise, but I know that not all of those Americans voted or voted as they should have.
