Can anyone recommend a good hunter safety class that spans one or two days? Has anyone done the online class offered by the state?
Had a friend do the online class, he liked it and the only thing he had to was go to the DOW to shoot.

i did the one offered at sportsman's warehouse. Not much to compare it too, but it seemed to cover all the necessary info. The first day was all classroom (3-4 hours). the second day was the test and shooting a .22lr for competence.
I did the online class then the follow up completion part I did at BluCore in Lakewood. Pretty simple, the online portion is time consuming but it's suppose to be. The follow up class was simple and informative, shoot ten rounds out of a .22 pass a test at the end and you're done.
I did the division of wildlife one two days good class. first day you read second day you shoot and get your permit.
state's website sucks. Everything in january is booked and it won't let me view for february. Can anyone else see a february schedule? I was hoping to be able to get it done this month. Unfortunately I'm unavailable thurs-sat cause of work.

they will guide you through, let you know what to bring and you can figure out the location and dates that work best.
whatever you do, get it done asap so you can put in for this years draw. that happens in early april.
I did the online when they first started it. Personally I thought it was a better choice being able to go through everything thoroughly on my own time.
My wife and I took the two day course 2 (3?) years ago. (long time shooters, first time hunters) It was really quite good and we learned a lot. The shooting part is a little silly, but it's lowest common denominator, but the rest of the information was great. It was worth both the money and time. We were the oldest 12 year olds in the room. :)
I took the online class in Oct 30. 2012 my Colorado Conclusion Class Voucher expire January 28, 2013. I have not been able to find an open class to take the shooting portion of the class. I had to pay 24.95 for the class online. Anybody out there that can help me out and get me in a second day shooting portion please :-). The online class conclusion voucher said you have to complete the conculsion class within 90 days after completing the online course. Had I known the classes where all booked I would have waited until the New Year to take it, but you don't see the classes offered for the conclusion part until after you take the online portion :-(.

BTW, there are free online classes available.
