I can empathize with your disappointment OP but, I really don't understand why anyone watches the Vagina Monologues of Piers Morgan. The only reason Elway or anyone else goes on these shows is because of ratings. Don't feed the troll.
I stopped caring about the opinions of "celebrities" long ago. Most of the time you're not even hearing their real thoughts so much as a soundbite created by their handlers. Best to think of most of them as trained circus animals. Enjoy the show, just don't be surprised when they throw/eat their own excrement.

so, somebody that is a high profile guy, needs to take Elway out shooting the fun toys. then he would see, one aspect of why we own them.

I'm quite certain that most celebrities out there who claim they only have "hunting type" weapons, and nothing "assaultish", are lying. They don't show any kind of mythical restraint in their personal lives, and always seem to crave the best looking women and cars as toys... not much of a step from there to imagine a safe-room full of "evil" black toys. If they're willing to keep a few good looking mistresses on the side, why not a few AR's? They've got the money, the land, and the influence to keep whatever they want for a secret.
