Sounds like the officer was shot in the hand. Officers partner returned fire killing the female suspect.
News is saying the officer is in critical condition with NON life threatening injuries. Thank God.
Yeah. 6 blocks from my office. Gotta love this neighborhood.
From what I can gather there was a shootout with a cop involved. The cop got hit, and is listed in critical condition with non-life-threatening injuries. No details about the other guy, but when one shoots at a cop there are few expected outcomes for that individual and all are bad.
Damn. Glad to hear the injury is non life threatning
how can you be in critical condition with non-life threatening injuries ? Aren't they mutually exclusive ?
Hope it doesn't mess up his career. Would suck to be subject to desk duty forever because of some ghetto trash. Proof that even with the last 10 years of gentrification in that CurtisPark/FivePoints area, it STILL can be dangerous.
that is my BIL beat, luckily he is still at home this morning.
That sucks to hear, but I sure do love Tom's home cookin!

post says fair condition.
Any gunshot wound is "critical" until proven otherwise, in hospital speak. Hopefully the officer will fully recover.
Not true... bullet to the arm can cause a life threatening wound requiring immediate trauma care... Not sure about the hand, but if circumstances were bad enough it could be critical in terms of loss of limb- which is probably why the officer's condition is critical. Loss of life, limb, eyesight are all circumstances of critical condition.
Prayers for the officer!
It was a Denver Deputy Sheriff and his partner serving a warrant to someone with several felony warrants out of her already. She shot one Deputy in the hand and the other Deputy shot her. She's dead.
Shooter dead = one less POS that hurt someone else later.
Hope the LEO will make a full recovery.
Prayers for the officer...
Feel sorry for the kids involved- what a POS putting the other four and all involved (who have to live with this) through it! Women who have no regard for there kids piss me off........
WHAT???? A repeat criminal broke the law again? What's the world coming to?
If they've done it repeatedly, chances are they'll do it again. You have to respect the pattern.
jezze hopefully it turns out okay, im glad they saved us from having to pay for her to be in jail.
Denver Deputies serve court papers, evictions and misdemeanor warrants and such. Not to dog on them, but they have very little street experience, so they may have not checked to see if their party had any additional warrants and if so, what they were. If they would have, I'm sure they would have notified the PD and requested assistance.
News reported they were members of a fugitive pursuit team since 1994.
Doesn't sound like unprepared rookies to me.
Best wishes to the officer for a speedy recovery.
I just happened to stumble upon this today coming from downtown . Turned the corner and all these cop cars and news trucks. felt like running over the news guy that was standing in the middle of the street. This was at 11:15 this morning.
Warrant served.
Same here but I was an hour+ earlier, they had what felt like a 3-block radius blocked off with 50+ squad cars, it was insane. I thought that the middle-school had a threat called in, then I read about the deputy being shot and still had trouble making the connection between what I saw and what actually happened.
Again, not to dog on them, but the SDS is not a line law enforcement agency. They perform statutory functions required of a sheriis department like manning a jail, process service, court security, evictions, etc. Their people have little street experience and going to serve a warrant on someone with multiple felony warrants with just two people at their residence is poor planning or poor execution.
