I have one and they are great. Really tough build. I personally prefer the 5.11 messenger bag for my laptops.... hidden padded pocket in the back is a great conceal option.
While not the 5.11 laptop backpack, I have used the 5.11 laptop messenger bag/satchel for over a year. I have carried my laptop, small binders, misc business items, and from time to time my Glock 19 in it nearly every day. It has held up exceptionally well during this time period. It does have a large amount of molle on the outside so it doesn't hide it's "tactical coolness" very well. I have been complimented on it many times and conversely I have had it referred to as my man purse. At least it's a tacticool man purse. But seriously, it has held up extremely well, carries everything that I need, and gives me access to my sidearm if needed.
Lol!!! Thanks for the input guys!
I got the 5.11 Rush12 pack for Christmas and it has a section for a laptop plus room for all kinds of other gear.
I was literally just searching for a new laptop bag for work when I saw this thread. The 5.11 messenger bag looks alot nice then the uncle mike's bag I was looking at
Pic taken @ work 5 min ago. No, there is nothing in the back pocket today....Company policies.

I need a new laptop/GHB,, maybe I'll check out the 5.11
I have an Uncle Mike's right now, with the CCW hidden pocket. It's nice, but it's getting worn out.
I tried a LowePro camera/laptop backpack, but it doesn't have much room. Too much padding.
Yep Messenger. You can add a Hello kitty patch on it, that will make it less tactical!
Just kidding of course.
I was actually just looking at some an stumbled across this little gem

this one is made by Maxpedition. I have a MASSIVE 18" gaming laptop and was hoping I could get it to fit inside of this thing to take up to and around the North Dakota Oil Fields.

I just got a Blackhawk! Tactical Briefcase on Tues. Laptop compartment is pretty tight even for a 14" ultrabook. No CCW option built into it. The jury is still out as this is my first departure from a notebook backpack.

Best price I could find was at OpticsPlanet.com
My biggest problem with backpacks is that I tend to single strap them over my left shoulder. The left strap comes apart before anything else on the backpack is worn out. I've gone through 3 of them so far.
5.11 Is having 20% off on packs through there site.
Damn, that puts the Covrt 18 at $112 shipped.
Thanks for the heads up!
Ya I think I will jump on it at that price.
Check Botach-I got my Rush12 for $80 with free shipping. That special may be over ?
Been looking for a new 'puter bag/man satchel. I like the set-up, pockets and size of the 5.11 messenger bag. Now, why do they have to make it look like a tactikewl wet dream? Do we really need multiple rows of mollie loop on three sides and enough front Velcro to attach every moral patch ever made? It just screams "I HAVE A GUN!!".
How about a Clark Kent version? [rockon]
