I had one done a couple weeks ago. They freak me out. I'd like to say that they upgraded my personality while they were at it, but I don't think so.
27 wires controlling 43 sensors is what I remember them saying.

Do you wake up screaming 30-60 minutes after falling asleep often? If that was the sleep study was about, let me know so I can get in on it!
For the record, I don't actually wake up screaming. It happens so often, that I'm used to it and it ranges from startled, to swearing at most.

I slept for about three and a half hours before I just sat bolt upright. The dr came rushing in, "everything ok, you alright?" Yep, I'm just done sleeping.
Then I sat there bored for about an hour before they told me I was done and to go home.

so..... I have sleep apnea, and I now get to live out my top gun fantasy every night by wearing a cpap machine. Awesome!
I might have to get one of those cpap machines too. A person at work swears it's the best thing that ever happened to her and sleeping. I have two other friends who have them and they too swear by them. I don't know, I'm a light sleeper, if it's noisy, it'll keep me up at night. How's it working for you?
Mine works well. I can tell the difference in my sleep. It's quiet enough that the Boss can sleep, too. Mines an auto-cpap.
Same for me, sensors or cpap. Noise, light, motion ok fine, just nothing touching my face.Quote:

You're not alone, I had a sleep study done a year ago and had to join the cpap club. Found out a ton of people have to use them. They are a pain in the butt and imperfect as far as being a total solution, but I'm better off with it than without it. You may need to try out different types of masks before finding one that works better than the others.Quote:

Not difficult getting to sleep. My body just stops breathing while I sleep. Average is about once every five minutes.Quote:

I have a cpap machine as well, it improves my sleep tremendously...when I actually use the thing. I opted for the nose pillows rather than the mask, more comfortable and less intrusive in my opinion.
i had one once. i don't think i went to sleep until about 4 am because of all the wires.
The nose pillow is definitely way more comfortable, but sometimes I can't use it if my nose is the slightest bit stuffed up because the "ports" on the pillow don't remain open enough and breathing becomes a chore, thus totally counter-productive.Quote:
