Looking for an all around camping/survival knife under $100. Anybody have experience with this knife?
They're not bad. But considering for $120 you can go down to Rapid Fire bunker and pick up a TOPS BOB, you would be best served saving for another month.
I have both, BTW.
I love mine. Holds the edge really well and if you were like totally stranded it is a strong enough blade to be used as a digging tool or a throwing knife or lash it to a poll for a spear.
It is just a good all around knife. You can use it to split wood really easy for making fire too.
Been looking at the same knife recently. DVOR has them for $70 right now and for that price I'm thinking of pulling the trigger.
BTW if anyone would like an invite for DVOR Please PM me, I get a $10 credit for each person I invite that signs up and when I signed up I got a $5 credit and I'm pretty sure that's good for any new "member". It's free and they don't spam you to death as long as you don't ask to be spammed. The deals aren't great all the time, but there are some good deals to be had here and there. It's somewhat like a steep and cheep type site that's more private and geared more towards shooting and tac gear.
amazon has them for $65.86 with free shipping if you decide to get one.

Checkout the Becker BK2. Full 1/4" thick blade, full tang and tough as nails. I was recently looking for a camping/survival knife and ended up with the BK2.
Looks like Blade Forums are down but there's a hell of a torture test there that fully shows just how tough the BK2 is.
She's a fat girl, but consider the BK-2 for about the same money. Rapid Fire has them as well and priced right there with Amazon.
The lmf won't conduct electricity. Ask me how I know.
I like mine.
Thanks for the input guys, I'm thinking a black lmf II from amazon for only $65 will be suffice.
Mine sits out but I prefer the Buck TOPS Fixed CSAR-T Knife . Both use 420HC steel and the Buck is 2 oz lighter with a better sheath IMO. The original LMF used 12C27 steel and the edge was better.
ive got one. honestly in terms of all of the knives ive had it feels the most balanced and nice to hold. no idea about longevity and toughness though. time will tell.
There's some good info in this thread. Don't know if you read through it already or not, or searched...

Also, +1 on the TOPS BOB comment above. Save up a bit longer...

buy four of them. I have YET to destroy one of these, and I've tried. Just run the one edge down a grinder, and you've got a good edge.
It's an inventive method of getting the same thing.
I love my lmf II
The overdone version of that.
