Good news I guess

I had a unique phone call no more than an hour ago from my state representative. I guess I am the most in awe that my representative even took the time to call me personally to discuss an issue. I wrote to him about how I was against further gun regulation. I pretty much explained how I feel on many other subjects. That I am a middle of the road and even uber liberal on many subjects (I know it pisses many of you off). But that guy actually listened and was receptive to my point of view. Talk about a breath of fresh air that way. This guy is a first time state representative and he has a "D" after his name too.

I guess the point I am trying to make is we are being heard. I hope that we can figure out ways to talk to our politicians rather than yell at them. Because surprisingly, there are some good ones who do care and listen. I personally don't think he would have ever called me had I have written to him in a confrontational tone. So when you write to your politician do your best to not start off with anger. That can sometimes lead to people never listening to each other.

Anyways.... that battle goes on.

That's great and all but ... you said it was your state representative, not your state senator, so he already voted for the gun control bills and the damage is already done. Recall his butt and be done with it.

Exactly, but you wouldn't expect a liberal to understand facts like that.

He said the only thing he agreed on was requiring background checks private party gun purchases. I raised my concern that people should not have to pay for background checks and he agreed that it was not a good idea. Remains to be seen how he will vote. It was Dominick Moreno.

Yes I brought that up and said that people should not have to pay the gov to exercise their constitutional rights. He agreed that it was like a poll tax and that it was not right.

I think alot of gun owners have just gotten stabbed in the back. I know I considered it pretty much settled and not under threat. I could vote with other issues in mind, not anymore.

This crap has at minimum made me a lifelong single issue voter.

Pretty much... it does not matter who I vote for. Because NEITHER side deals with issues that matter. I can honestly see the Dems in Colorado being swept from power just for these gun issues. Just like the Dems were on the national level in 1994. I know I myself will do my part by not voting D next election. Because really you guys were all jazzed up to take my 2nd amendment constitutional rights. But don't seem to care as much about fighting for issues that REALLY matter like universal healthcare or mental healthcare. So why bother? Pretty much this has turned me into a one issue voter. Because none of my other core issues ever get any attention. So why bother. I am voting R until they come back and overturn these dumb anti 2nd Amendment Laws. I honestly thought the Dems learned their lesson. Stupid me....

I've been a primary issue voter my entire life. If you're not able to exercise your Second Amendment rights without the blessing or approval of any government body, none of the rest of the document is worth anything. The 2A represents your freedom. If you give that up...it's game over.

I don't expect you to agree with me on universal healthcare. But I am here as a gun owner who is trying to make gun ownership a non partisan issue. Sooner we figure out how to do that, the faster we can stop the assault on the 2nd Amendment.

Tell a Hardcore liberal (D) There should be a $20 fee for a required voter registration card and watch their head explode.
