Hahahaha ooops
Coming from a firefighter family, there's a running theme- "If we fcuk up your car it's not our fault, it's yours. Fire trucks ALWAYS have the right of way." [Coffee]
Taxpayers on the hook - again.
Probably so but when the tower ladder pulled in there was people in the windows, some had started jumping. The cop arrived after the tower ladder and locked his car as he took off. I would say they did what's right.
this photo has been discussed largely in my circles, that's how I got the full story.
What circles are you in? I was just chatting with the boss-man (retired firefighter) and he said "What a jackass! The Cop should have known better, or left his keys in his car. They probably had to deploy the ladder pretty damn quick. Surprised those outriggers didn't cause more damage to the cop car." [LOL]
I've had a few cop cars lately that deserve that. I even had one blocking the street to the fire. HELLO! Big red truck is here to put out the fire. Get your little speed bump out of the way or we will use the BCT to move it.
Thats a cool pic..... hahahahaha[ROFL3]
HAHA, nice! I have a lot of buddies, via my old man, who are on Evergreen Fire/Rescue, and they have no qualms with doing stuff like that if cars are in the way. "Oh what's that, you're parked in front of a fire hydrant? Aww, too bad we had to smash your windows and run our lines through your car!" [ROFL1]
Fire Department, AKA: Evidence Eradication Team
But, yeah...the PD should find a better spot to park. Maybe a rookie.
Firefighters......even Cops need someone to look up to. [Flower]
This thread title made me pour out a drink for Elhuero.
Wow! A cop leaving his keys in the car! Yeah, right. Now someone can not only get access to the primary weapon in the front seat but also steal his car. Sorry, that isn't gonna happen....ever.
Anytime a cop leaves his car even unlocked they risk being fired... let alone leaving the keys in it. The Jackass is the retired firefighter for even suggesting it.
Maybe the cop saw the people in the windows and ran up to try and save people like they did in the twin towers in 9-11..... it wasn't just fire fighters in there.
This is a very bad idea. I have the utmost respect for the people who died in 9-11 and I am not saying anything concerning that. When you go into that situation without the proper PPE, you are just asking to become another patient. I know the feeling of being helpless standing there watching, but what good is a cop if he goes down? FD will stop looking for other patients and help the cop, because he is our friend and co-worker.
I dealt with this helpless feeling working ambulance for about 5 years, during that time, I put myself into some questionably safe situations without PPE. Since moving to FD nine years ago, I have learned to protect myself first and then others. An injured medic is no good to a patient.
On the other hand, I am more than happy to send the cops in for an armed person wanting to do harm. They have the proper PPE for that, and after hiding behind a very small mailbox post for "concealment" when shots were being fired, I will gladly stay in my big red truck until you cops detain the subject.
