It's not just about the death count but think of how many were maimed and/or amputated. Beyond that, an avalanche is a naturally occurring phenomena, and an accidental fire-explosion is not nearly the same as a terrorist attack. It's the majority of what's being talked about in the same line of thinking that 9/11 was widely discussed afterward, but no one seemed to notice that 5 people were killed that same week in a roll over accident in some other part of the country.

Just wanted to point out that the jury is still out on whether the West Texas fire-explosion was accidental.
After-all, it took place two days before the anniversary and less than 15 miles from Waco. Just sayin

Most residents of NYC don't drive or even own cars because it's easier to walk or take public transportation.

From that standpoint it's possible that there aren't that many cars with the coexist sticker in NYC.

That said, even if they were all over the place, Bill likely wouldn't have seen them because it's difficult to observe your surroundings when your head is jammed that far up your own ass.

I think it would be a safe bet to assume these people commit these atrocities largely because of the fame or the infamy they receive afterwards, that's why its annoying to me

Clint you are so right! I am accused all the time of having no internal filter. Now after having my head beat on by my parents, friends, and wife for decades I am a litttle better. Unless I am drinking, then whatever I think I say again. That is why Irishmen make such good comics, they say what they think and love to tell a funny story.
