For Sporting Clays & Skeet the most popular auto by far is the Beretta 391. Very reliable and lots of aftermarket stuff if you feel that you need it.

I say run what ya brung...

I've never been much into gun snobbery... I can admire a really nice firearm, but I can also admire something that's just simple, functional, and ugly..

the Saiga's not ugly, maybe a little "scary" to some.. but any autoloading shotgun capable of emptying a 5-round mag before a shell hits the ground has something going for it...
just ordered some conversion parts and 10-round mags for mine... is your converted/reverted, or still sporting setup?

I vote for the Saiga too. Here's my old one (I wish I still had it). It was probably the most entertaining firearm I've ever owned!

mine would probably be my last or 2nd to last gun, depending on the situation.. just so versatile...

I'd think we should have a "try to jam the Saiga-12" event at the next club shoot... bring some ammo you think won't function.. (besides 3 1/2" shells)
I'll bring the Saiga-12... maybe I'll even clean the gas tube

I haven't made it to a club shooting event yet- usually busy, or don't think I have something to contribute...

we could even make it interesting- $1 per shell... first one to jam it gets the pot! if it never jams, the pot goes for upgrades!!
or not- that's not to motivation... it's just a real kick to shoot!

    sounds like fun, anyway...

I'd bring a 10 round AGP mag and load it with those cheap ass winchester skeet loads from wal-mart... I'd win that pot right away!

you'd think- but not in my Saiga- it's over-gassed.... I should get a buffer and/or a gunfxr knob to better regulate the pressure... but it always functions!
I haven't used an AGP mag yet- but it cycles most light loads on setting '1'
put it on 2, and it will chuck those chap-ass empty shells about 10'

on 2, it will cycle low-recoil just fine, too.... haven't tried any of the little 1 3/4" shells yet... haven't gone out of my way to find 'em

I'm not trying to be arrogant, I just think it'd be a blast.... I won't be the least bit hurt if somebody finds something that jams it... just gives me something to work on!

+1 for saiga. Funnest gun I've ever shot/owned.

the parts are very hard to find and when you do find them they are mega$$$$$. I wanted a new barrel, stock one is 28" and I wanted a 20" or 18.5 and I ordered one from them for $350 back around 11/2/08 or 11/3/08 and got off the phone with them Monday 4/13/09 to find out not only are they still not in stock, but they want $450 now, and they would not honnor the fact the the order was placed before the price increase.

Haha, I don't think they can legally do that can they? Either way, take your money and walk.
