    The gentleman who wants to buy the weapon offered to show me his lease and utility bills that demonstrate he resides here. Due to his job being in CA, he still lives there until the transfer goes through, his wife is a CO resident though... I'm guessing the signs are leading towards going through an FFL? Also, this guy is supposedly an officer for one of the fed agencies.

    Well, if he is some sort of Fed, his badge could be pretty convincing proof he can legally own a weapon. Those can be verified with a simple phone call. If he doesn't want to show you his badge, I'd tell him to walk.

    So you mean when I joined the Coast Guard I could've bought a handgun through a private sale back in the day?! I didn't get my 1st pistol until I was 24!
