    Default Tackle box gun

I sometimes see people refer to keeping a gun in their tackle box for snakes or something. Isn't this a concealed firearm?

I would think so. My son asked the sheriff of some county if he could open carry in the forest. The sheriff stated that the firearm must be very visible and never covered by a shirt or jacket or in a back pack or it would be considered concealed.

So I would consider a gun carried anywhere that it can not be seen as concealed. Vehicles excepted as they are an extension of your home.

    My 2 cents worth...

The thing I was thinking of is that you are allowed to carry a gun in it's case like when you go from your car to range, but I don't remember if that is because you are traveling, on range property, not going to be hassled because what else are you supposed to do?, etc.

Fishing, isn't exactly "traveling" though you know? If you are in a boat though, then I'd think that falls under the "private vehicle" deal. Except getting bitten by a snake is about the last thing I'm worried about when I'm on a boat.

You can carry concealed while hunting but I have never heard about fishing.

I carry concealed in the woods all the time and don't even worry about it because concealed is concealed and don't expect to even be asked about it.

I would like to interpret concealed carry as:
    1: not visible
    2: on your person

How would anyone transport a firearm anywere without freaking out neighbors. Or what about if you have a box of stripped lowers and you carry it from someplace into your car. You have now commited a felony?

I can't imagine discharging a .357 to kill a snake in the bottom of my boat!

My little bro, fishing from a boat, had a water moccasin drop into the boat...
He left the snake all alone in the boat...

I think this is a great question. It had never even occurred to me that this might be considered "concealed".

I suspect as stated previously, to qualify as concealed, it has to be on your person.

    I really don't know though.
