    Default Red Dot Scope Question

Guys and Gals, I'm a shooter but never new much about the technical aspect of the sport. I have a lithuania red dot and I want to know if any of you know why this scope is threaded on the front end as you can see in the photo? Makes me feel I'm missing some parts?

Can't really tell by that picture.
It might be for attaching a sunshade?

Might be for attaching a sunshade, although I've seen a scope or two with what looked like threads in the end but were just grooves or had some sort of ring that wouldn't allow a sunshade or anti-reflection device to thread in. My guess on those is they were there to prevent or reduce light reflections on the input side of the scope.

Before I even saw any of the other responses I thought "sunshade extension".

It looks like we're all thinking along the same lines.

Many thanks to all the inputs and I think as well now that it's to cut down on a smooth service to stop reflection. Good to go!
