Is Alderden's term up - and IS he term limited?

I keep getting emails from Bruning - anyone know anything about him?:

Currently, the Larimer County Sheriff's office is entering concealed-carry permit holders into a statewide computer database.
The issue of being flagged in a government database as a “person of interest” is a major concern to permit holders. Even more troubling is the potential of law enforcement to link that information with other databases.
It is my belief that the government (and those with access to this database) have no right to know who has a concealed-carry permit.
As your Constitutional Sheriff, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall NOT be infringed! I WILL NEVER enter concealed-carry permit holders in any database!
I will staunchly defend your 2nd Amendment rights, and pledge to the following:
    - I SUPPORT the repeal of “instant” Brady background check legislation, since it centrally registers gun sales and gun owners
    - I SUPPORT Vermont-style legislation to allow law-abiding citizens to carry openly or concealed for any reason (except the commission of a crime)
    - I WILL sign Form 4’s for law-abiding citizens here in Larimer County
    - I WILL take public positions in favor of your right to keep and bear arms

And this specifically does not seem to be true:
Currently, the Larimer County Sheriff's office is entering concealed-carry permit holders into a statewide computer database.
From the Larimer County Sherri's Office FAQ's:

I'm thinking about getting a concealed carry permit. Are the owners of concealed carry permits public record?
No, the names of CCW permit holders are not public record and can only be disclosed to law enforcement personnel to verify a permit's authenticity.

Just wondering - I don't live in Larimer County so - I have no skin in this game...

some counties will put the CCW holder into a database and if you get pulled over they will run your plate or your ID and it will show up on the cops screen.

not sure if everyone does this or not, I know adams county does.

If you haven't heard, Terry changed his mind, and is running again. Everyone likes him so much, he's pretty much a shoe in.

The state wide database is CCIC (CO Crime Information Center). I've had access to dozens of LE computer systems over the years, and this one in peticular for about 4 years. You know how the cop goes back to his car after stopping your for speeding? They run your info in CCIC and NCIC for wants and warrants. When they do this, you show as a person of interest. This can happen for a lot of reasons. Sometimes the cop checks why, sometimes they don't. I don't know the criteria for identifying someone as a person of interest, but I surmise anyone ever printed with a blue fingerprint card (cataloged, non-criminal) like Dr's, Nurses, teachers, cops, etc... are tagged as a POI. I could be wrong though.

Oh, ya, forgot. You get printed and cataloged for access to CCIC too. Access is very controlled and anyone getting caught abusing it loses access. It's an active LE telecommunications system. I would equate the amount of security on it and the level of requests and approvals for access to CCIC is almost equivalent to a military's secret computer systems.

Thankfully someone with some common sense, good for him. Time for me to get out out of hippie Boulder County and move to Larimar

Got to love that teacher (aka idiot) 'I don't care about the facts'.

I thought the CSU ban was illegal as it didn't comply with state laws? Either that or I miss read an article somewhere else?

Hey, thanks, Ryan! I had not heard that he changed his mind. Must have been when I was in the Bahamas.
