Well, it is obviously time to start making the shift away from local law enforcement and the patchwork regulations and institute a national police force, all with the same training and sensitivity standards, with their racial makeup that coincides with the region that they are assigned. This would increase the trust of the community in law enforcement, avoid racial profiling and stop the deaths of criminals by law enforcement. Of course, once the NALE (National American Law Enforcement) is in place, there will no longer be any need for the citizen to be armed as the NALE will be there to protect you. It is just plain old common sense, how could anyone disagree with this effort by the government to make sure every single person in the USA is safe and truly free from worry? They're only here to help us, we should listen to them!

The Obama Administration and its allies created the plastic Occupy S--t movement as a reaction to the 2010 elections. I think this current "movement" is also artificial, created and fomented with the express intent of 1) "activating" their revolutionary base with anger, however falsely created, and 2) winning back the minorities who had started to see Obama's lies and negative impact on the black community for what they were.

The cop jumped on his back at 0.38, but he didn't appear to have a hold until 0.43.
The cop released with one arm and grabbed the man's wrist at 0.51, at which point, the man started speaking and was obviously conscious.

Clearly has his arm around the guys neck at 38. again, same team here, but preexisting conditions were probably part of the reason that choke holds aren't allowed. Cops liable. Which im sure will play out civilly.

One of the biggest black market items in the US is cigarettes. Buy them where they are taxed much less and sell them in NY where the taxes are sky high. It seems that the suspect was on probation for the same violations and it seemed like the cops knew the guy.

Im trying to figure out why they were trying to arrest him for selling a cigarette? I mean isn't arresting him a bit much here? Shouldn't this be a ticket at the most? He was basically loitering.

I blame the politicians that pass laws like this. Bloomberg with his big gulp ban comes to mind. If not for these crap laws that infringe on our freedoms there never would have been a confrontation here.

The ironic thing is the people that tend to vote these types of politicians into office are the same ones that tend to be affected most by them.

By the way... There were almost 230,000 misdemeanor arrests by NYPD in NYC last year. None of them turned out like this one did. This type of situation is not common. I know once is one time too many under the circumstances but this is not a problem of the police being out of control or the system not working.

This one is a tough one.
If I was on the Grand Jury, I'd indict; on a jury trial for murder/manslaughter, i'd acquit. On a civil trial, i'd pay out the family.
From my limited time as LEO, I know you can't go around the neck. After the initial resist, I would have gone to taser--which in the end probably would have killed him due to the health issues. The dude played a stupid game and won a stupid prize. In the end, I think Rand Paul is right...it's the politicians who screwed this guy over with excessive sin taxes.
