It would be foolish, in my opinion, to believe that martial law or a govt crackdown is entirely impossible in this country.
The group of guys that beat up the old lady in new orleans and took her gun "for safety" were all california highway patrol, and I wouldn't doubt that there were some ex military there by the look of them.
I didn't see the OP, so maybe the tinfoil jokes are warranted.
My comment wasn't made as a joke, I am totally convinced the sedentary lifestyle we have come to live that allows the government to do whatever it wants will be the end for many that one day not long ago would've stood up and fought for their freedoms.
you think he should calm down and up his meds huh? you think because he thinks it could happen, hes crazy? tell me, what do you think would happen if for instance the economy collapsed, and food stopped being delivered. remember katrina? that city was under martial law even if it wasnt declared. they took peoples guns. that really happened. but you think he should be on medication. youre just another sheep. it could and chances are it will at some point. educate yourself before you try to act like a funny man on a forum.

If I had a dollar for every person who pointed to Katrina and went, " See, See, there it is! The evil Empire is coming to get us!" If that's all you have then I'm not worried. "It could happen, it's true, it's true," isn't an arguement, it isn't proof, and it isn't even logical. I didn't see them declare martial law during the great depression and our economy was much worse than now and the administration was just as scrutinized. Oh wait, you're talking about 2012 right? That's when it's going to happen because the Inca's said so...
Educate myself? Hmm, well, I think my college transcripts pretty much show I'm not only well educated, but continuing my education. So, not right there either.
As for my original post, I stand by it. We are not even close to martial law on any front in this country. To put forth we are is stupid and overly dramatic. So, ya. Calm down and up the meds. I would recommend a nice low grade benzodiazapam to calm the nerves.

and why does it not mean much when people refer to katrina? the mayor was on the news saying hes "taking all weapons, no one will be able to be armed" so i guess they are sorry and wont do that again, right?
just because it wasnt declared during a similar situation, does not mean it wont happen. things were a lot different then. the economy is actually worse now than it was then. the difference is we werent trillions in debt and still had great credit.
and college doesnt make you smart. did you really bring college up?
