I was issued an M14 but eventually got my PSG to let me switch to an M4. The ones we had used really high scope mounts and we had to make our own cheekpads. It was terrible, especially since I was getting in an out of vehicles all the time too.
I was later attached to a navy EOD team and they had a sage M14 and it was nice. All my complaints had been addressed. I didnt see any in army use until the 101st replaced us and their SDM's had sages as well. This was in 2007, its good to see that somebody has been paying attention since then.
I wouldn't mind a sage M14 on my next tour in a-stan.
Only thing that puts me off about the SAGE stock is that they take the M14 from 9 lbs to 15. You've really gotta want to hump that thing around.

I agree, it's about time they started getting the numbers back up in the reach-out-and-touch-'em rifles.

Very cool setup for the M14. Not quite the Military EBR, but probably a great rifle.
