my stance is pretty well known. the cops on this board, you are all good guys.. I really do believe that. cops in general are specifically the arm of the government that the citizen is most in contact with. Including the IRS etc.. hence my lack of trust.
So what were the circumstances on this crash?

I must not hang out with the right crowds because I seem to never run into these "bad" officers I always hear about.

If it does occur as regularly as the "writer" claims then the ACLU would have certainly been aware of it by now, and the ACLU is really strong in the Southern States.

This whole story smacks of either a reporter trying to fabricate a career creating story, or someone with a grudge against that agency - maybe an ex-cop that got caught doing something and is trying some payback. Evidence and facts are required before I would even begin to believe it happens at that level.
My thoughts exactly, especially since they specifically name people.

That said, the credibility of this is almost 0%. It does happen. What the article cites to there is a 99% chance didn't actually happen.
Just because it does happen doesn't mean I respect BS news.
That is so unfortunate to hear, a bad apple or two in any agency can create so much damage. It makes me so angry beyond words that I am willing to share in this mixed forum. I can tell you that when any officer is caught in a lie or in a compromising situation, 9.99 out of 10 the agency takes swift action against that individual. And if its criminal activity, then God help him if he gets placed in GENPOP in DOC.

    Enough said on this topic.

If even a fraction of this is true, I feel truly blessed that my 36 year carreer was not spent at a Dept. that would even begin to condone such actions.

I was curious about the use of "DC Post" as the journalistic source for the story. I thought that maybe the writer was referring to the Washington Post, which is the larger of the two regular papers in DC, the other being the more conservative Washington Times.

Here is a link to the DC Post story: http://dcpost.org/florida-law-office...ive-interview/

I have been unable to find anything about the editors/publishers of dcpost.org

I spent years in DC and have never heard of the publication before now.

There are bad people in every profession. This is especially bad when they are in public service and they have authority. If anything in that story is true, then I would assume at the very least, the DOJ will have a team of lawyers and investigators winging their way to sunny south Florida.
