it really is a great system...and depending on how much you get into your safe you really don't have to worry about it. you can even just replace the battery the same time you change out your smoke detector batteries and you have nothing to worry about.
even go so far as to buy a lithium...that thing will probably last 5 years

Well - so far I'm leaning towards the Winchester Tradition Series 24 gun...
And thinking of purchasing it from Gunsafes.com
Not having much luck finding info on the company (Gunsafes.com) they seem to be just an intermediary site type thing... but best prices I've seen on them...

    are you a costco member?

the deal MB888 posted was great, especially with free delivery. they will drop it off at your curb, you have to get it in the house or garage or where you want it though.
With 3 guys and a appliance dolly it is a piece of cake. probably only 2 for the smaller 24 gun safes.

still make sure you get a master key in my opinion electronics are great but if it fails and it doesn't come with a key how do you get into the safe! now if they had a dial lock and electronic key pad on one safe that would be the safe i would buy!

Yeah I was thinking about that as well...what if my electronic lock completely failed or malfunctioned then how would I get it....then again what would happen if my combo lock malfunctioned or became jammed or something.

guess it is a risk either way

I have a small pistol safe (Winchester e-safe) and it recently died on me. I need to check and see if I can send it in under warranty.

I've heard that you're fine as long as you have a sharp ax and a few minutes.

that is why I always have at least 1 gun out with a couple extra mags...just in case. I can always call a locksmith later.

Would an EMP, from a detonation, prevent you from getting into an electronic keypad safe?
