A buddy of mine has a 1100 hp GT-R and it's incredible. I've had liter bikes that were incredible as well. In my older age it's surprisingly relaxing to hammer the throttle in a car that fast that won't loop, gets traction and throws down amazing times- but that Kawi tuned with a smaller pulley still makes my tingly thinking about it. The fact that two of us can ride in the GT-R non butt-to-nut and lay down good times is pretty sweet.

I just rode a 2015 BMW S1000RR the other day and it is way quicker and faster than I was ready for, it hit 140 mph in 4th gear on the frontage road and I was not even near redline. The power is awesome and this is a street bike that is very easy to ride. We have a guy we support that races one and it is just about unbelievable.

The older I get the faster I was. I have been over 180 mph on a motorcycle before on a closed circuit but these new bikes are faster than I ever was. And the BMW is about $14K.

I'm pretty sure I would get overly confident too soon and kill myself on a bike like that. Incredible.

I guess I don't get it. Yeah, a bike is faster than a car. It weighs way less and you can still put a good sized engine on it, so why should anyone be surprised? The car has better safety, can comfortably carry more passengers. You strip down a car to something that doesn't need those things and you get a bike. Of course it will be faster. And it damn well better be cheaper otherwise what's the point?
