anybody doing paleo/primal????????? Thinking of moving my wife to that from keto (ultra low carb), she's clearly allergic to something in life. She's gotten better on keto, but it's still there and still affecting her.
just ordered the primal books.

What's the best, but also cheap breakfast idea that's low carb? I have tried the rolled oats breakfasts and have a hard time choking it down. I lift and do cardio before breakfast so I am pretty hungry. I use whey protein but if I could find a high protein low carb solution that would be good. I am also poor so I can't spend $10 a day on breakfast. And time is very valuable in the morning. So cheap, fast, easy, low carb, high protein.
Lunch ideas would be great also! I get bored with the same old same and end up at subway/taco bell way to much!
My cut this month has been a challenge, work is busy, the flooding, my basement flooding twice. But I haven't quit, I did have to short a few workouts. With some home life stress I have even drank about 4 pops this month. But all in all I haven't fell off the wagon which is good. My water intake has been down to about 2 liters a day though I need to work on that!!!

I have whatever leftover meat we had the night before (taco meat, chicken breasts, pork, etc.) in a salad for breakfast. Breakfast became a lot easier when I stopped concentrating on traditional breakfast foods. Ironically, I have bacon and eggs for dinner 2 or 3 times a week.
I do that when I can but with 4 of us one being a 12 year old boy their is rarely any left covers haha. Worst part is my wife is a fat whiney bitch and very unsupportive so if I mention healthy protein type dinners she will purposely have like spaghetti or other pastas. And on her nights to cook she doesn't cook till around 7. I am trying to have my own meal plans.
Aren't eggs low carb high protein? Isn't that the cheapest and fastest breakfast? Eggs and sausage.

For all of you guys swearing off carbs... There are some 'good' carbs.
If you follow paleo/primal (which I try but sometimes just want something bad for me) sweet potatoes are an awesome carb. I never knew the things to do with them beyond baking.
My favorite breakfast now is sweet potato hash. I vary the sausage or meat in it and it's wonderful... Couple eggs to go with and your full till lunch.
Some great recipe ideas for those looking for primal/paleo.

Paleomg.com (she's local and pretty cool, but seems a bit crazy)
There are a TON of websites out there that are free and great resources.
I've not made one recipe from them that I thought was bad.
As far as the guy issue you're having, try to get in some probiotics. Usually after about a month of strict paleo I start to get the worst gas.. Last a few days and I swear my body is expelling some horrible things...
If you're trying to cut out preservatives you basically have three areas to go in a grocery store. Produce, meat, and where they keep the eggs.
Belly, are there any farmers markets near you? They're a great source for produce and grass fed/ pastured meats off all kinds.

There are a couple farmers market, and because of the warm climate they are open year round..... The only problem, is that I'm not rich enough to afford the prices they want.
I usually end up at one of those three places that you mentioned : meats, veggies, and eggs.
Just doing what I can to stay on this side of the dirt.
Not the best but on a budget, I picked up a 5# pork loin on sale, some green Chile (because I had to), 2 dozen eggs. Looks like omelette's/burritos for breakfast, deviled and hard boiled eggs for lunch with salad, with a few bags of peanuts for snack. And burritos for dinner. I will see how far I can stretch this. Drinking water all day is good and cuts cost. Now if I would quit the Copenhagen I would be good!
low carb breakfast
eggs and bacon
what else do you need?
ok, maybe some hot sauce, most are zero carbs
there, perfection on a plate.

Needed to bump this. I'm going full keto (less than 20 carbs per day) AGAIN. The diet didn't fail me in the past, I failed myself. Keto works if you let it and I'm dedicated this time. Tired of being overweight, sucking wind going up stairs and not being able to chase my 5 year old around.
