Awesome thx for posting that. Really interesting bc last night the gf, who gets her news from buzzfeed, tried trotting out that line saying all the big shootings seem to be white males. I called her out on it and rattled off some of the names in AC's article but had never heard of some of the others.

That's the product of selective reporting/politicization, IMHO. We face an uphill battle on that front.

I've been on Disqus battling all morning. Many of the useful posters hadn't heard of the Bath incident. Others didn't know what an assault rifle is (big surprise). Many thought "assault rifles" (by which they meant semi-auto ARs/AKs) were used in the bulk of gun homicides. Some were advocating for universal background checks without knowing that CA has had that on the books for years.

Oh, and the stats... All of them now lumping in suicides and accidents with homicides. Selectively by capita (rate) when it benefits them but by volume when it doesn't (e.g. "US highest number of mass shootings" but we happen to have a lower rate of mass shooting fatalities than other developed countries).

It's mess.

Or you don't have the disposable income to buy anything other than food/clothes/housing. I'd love to make enough money to buy what I need as far as firearms go, but I chose to feed my kids/put clothes on their back/keep a roof over their head.

That's what credit cards are for!!! Now I'm talking need not want. Anyone who's interested in modern guns should have a solid AR + 1,000 rounds for it and a pistol with the same.

There are lots of things I want too but I don't have the income so I have to save or wait. If the laws change, some of that might not happen.

You're right, my kids can just wear trash bags and eat dirt. I wish I would have thought of that sooner.

Man...some folks on here sure like telling other people what they need to do. Seems kind of liberal-ish to me, but what do I know...I'm just a poor guy with no guns or ammo who doesn't care about my family's safety.
