I can't help but see it this way. It's so inflammatory and offensive. In no way are they welcoming a conversation. This is a demand and it they want it exercised against their political opposition. The only thing lacking is "or else."

It seems to me that the unofficial poll taken by the NICS background checks on Black Friday would be sufficient to show the response of many Americans to the the progressive call for "sensible gun control."

Do these same progressive pols who demonize police departments around the nation then expect that those police officers will be willing to go and take guns from free citizens?

    Delusional.

After the last few days on facebook and other social media, I'm convinced that we are actually winning the battle on all fronts here. I've never seen so much pro-gun support in all my life. There has never been a time in US history when a larger percent of the population owned guns. I have several liberal "friends" from high school or college who have recently bought their first gun and have legitimately switched sides on the whole issue. I hate the reason it has come to light, but I'm more optimistic than I've ever been about the future of this country in terms of Liberty with firearms.

But, after talking about it, it'll prove too much effort for my motivation level, and I'll give up without notice, recluding to a recliner to play some video games and smoke amendment 64 or whatever it is millennials do.

I am patiently waiting for the moment when this:

Speaking to the audience at the Muslim Advocates' 10th anniversary dinner Thursday, Lynch said her "greatest fear" is the "incredibly disturbing rise of anti-Muslim rhetoric" in America and vowed to prosecute any guilty of what she deemed violence-inspiring speech. "The fear that you have just mentioned is in fact my greatest fear as a prosecutor, as someone who is sworn to the protection of all of the American people, which is that the rhetoric will be accompanied by acts of violence," she said.
"Now obviously this is a country that is based on free speech, but when it edges towards violence, when we see the potential for someone lifting that mantle of anti-Muslim rhetoric—or, as we saw after 9/11, violence directed at individuals who may not even be Muslims but perceived to be Muslims, and they will suffer just as much—when we see that we will take action," said Lynch.

So now the attorney general, the highest law enforcement official in this country, has declared that the Muslim religion will be the one religion in America that the federal government will protect even against disparaging speech. Isn't there something in the constitution that says the government will not elevate one religion over any other? I used to think that when BO went around the world telling everyone Americans are bad people and apologizing, he was talking about our history of slavery and us imposing Christian values on the rest of the world. I now realize he's was just pissed off that Christians created this country and like every other misguided Muslim wants all of Christianity to come to a untimely end. It wasn't too long ago that the Obama administration was somewhat hiding the fact that they are pro Muslim, I guess not so much anymore.
