Even Mrs BG says it's her back. I've also never seen crossdraw appendix carry with the gun canted that way. That seems like it would be difficult to get a good shooting grip from that position.
This could be the new "what color is the dress" photo.

I've...er...studied the picture, and it indeed looks like 4 o'clock, with the spare mag in a reaaallly bad location if she happens to fall and land on her back...about L3-L4...

It's definitely her back. I've seen quite a few women from behind. I would know.
Well, I have seen it called both 'appendix' and 'kidney' carry. I honestly don't know what this would be called. There are videos that show the placement. Here's one:

There was a corset in that video? All I saw were breasts.
Seriously, it does look more like 4:30 or 5:00 ish carry.
So, 4:00-4:30 carry is Appendix carry?
And 4:30-5:00 is Kidney carry?
My bad, I've had it wrong all this time!

Appendix carry is definitely front carry & not rear. Think of where you see an appendix removal scar... on the front stomach/waste usually at about 2 'clock. I've never heard to it referred to as 'kidney carry' for the back but that makes sense too. Usually it's easier to refer to it like a clock since it's a more universal descriptor. So this corset or 'kidney carry' would be 5 o'clock.
