I ride a Kona Kula Deluxe 29r. Never noticed it being heavy, but I'm firmly in the Clydesdale category

Yeah I'm not serious enough at this point to be concerned with weight, I pull a trailer with two growing toddlers for Christ sake lol.

I demoed a kona at crank works. I went off a jump and went to turn and my handlebars moved but the wheel didn't. Ran straight into a tree. Tightened everything down made it about 500 feet before the rear derailed fell off.

This was probably all because it was a demo bike. But I still won't ever ride one again.

If I'm ever at a party and the cops come to arrest people. Ill blindfold myself, throw the ball gag in, handcuff my hands, and hide in a closet. Police never arrest hostages!

So I picked up the Kona, overall in pretty good condition, needs a good cleaning and a tune up, but it definitely shifts a lot smoother than the Specialized, I'm guessing due to the higher quality components. The Kona is heavy, but like I said before, I'm not terribly worried about weight at this point. Thinking I'll replace the Shimano disc brakes with either the set of BB7's I have, or maybe take Lex up on his hydros. I'll take it out for a ride as soon as the weather lets up.

Good day for a ride, took the new rig out. Bike rode good, fits me pretty well. I'll definitely be replacing the Shimano brakes with something else.

Googled the Kula Deluxe, sweet looking rig for sure, one of the pricier hard tails I've seen lol.
