<shrug> To each their own. I love the classic Mustang but was surprised at how cheap and crappy the interior of a buddy's Z06 Vette was. I am more interested in how it handles on the curves than power on the straightaway. I've also got a special place in my heart for Porsches because my Dad used to have a 356 and the way he and Mom got me to go to sleep as a baby was to load the cradle in the back half-seat and go for a drive. The 911 is the direct descendant of that old 356 so ...

Well, I dated a very obnoxious Italian who thought his Ferrari entitled him to a lot more than his abrasive personality allowed him, so I may have some transference in my general dislike of low-slung, swoopy-looking cars. And obnoxious Italians.

My baby brother would be lulled into naps with car rides; he's a terrible passenger as an adult, dropping right off to sleep instead of conducting his 'passenger duties' of navigator, conversationalist, and music-changer!

I definitely don't understand the concern for where to put "stuff" but I also imagine < 5% of owners have this as their only car.

I've been long wanting a 996, replace/upgrade the IMS, and have a cheap, fun little car. With a little one on the way, that hunt quickly shifted from trading an extra car for an old 911 to dumping my CTD for the Tacoma. Someday... someday likely when the warranty and maintenance package is out on the current ride.

He didn't even have that going for him! His friend had a restaurant, so we went there and he spent most of the mealtime talking with his buddy about other women.
